Studio Ghibli officially inducted into Asian Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025

Legendary Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli has been officially inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
The studio was honored at a prestigious induction ceremony held at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 1.

Studio Ghibli is one of the most celebrated animation studios in the world, co-founded by directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, and is responsible for beloved classics such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Spirited Away.

The studio, which recently won its second Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for Miyazaki’s 2023 film, The Boy and the Heron, was recognized for its profound global influence and for creating films that have transcended cultural barriers.

The 2025 induction class included 12 distinguished individuals and groups from diverse fields.
Studio Ghibli was honored during the same ceremony as Japanese music superstar YOSHIKI, who was inducted as a “Cultural Icon.”

Other notable inductees in the 2025 class included Chinese basketball legend Yao Ming, Olympic figure skating medalist Michelle Kwan, and SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man.

The Asian Hall of Fame was established in 2004 by the Robert Chinn Foundation to honor the achievements and cultural impact of people of Asian descent.
