Persona 6 Officially Announced for Consoles and PC

ATLUS has formally announced Persona 6, the next mainline entry in its acclaimed role-playing game franchise, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
While the game has now been revealed, the company has not yet provided a release date.

The Persona franchise has surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide and has become one of the most influential RPG series of its generation.
Following years of anticipation from fans, the latest numbered installment has now been introduced to the public.
Persona 6 is set to build upon the defining elements that made previous entries popular while introducing an entirely new narrative, setting, and cast of characters.
The game will once again combine everyday life simulation with supernatural adventures, presenting players with a self-contained story that can be enjoyed independently of previous titles.
ATLUS emphasizes that both long-time followers of the franchise and newcomers will be able to experience the game without prior knowledge of earlier entries.
A central theme of the series returns through the use of Personas, manifestations of an individual’s inner self that grant extraordinary abilities.
Players will encounter others who possess similar powers and strengthen themselves by developing relationships and deepening connections throughout the story.
The bonds formed between characters will play a key role in confronting mysterious threats and hidden dangers.
As with previous Persona titles, players will balance two contrasting aspects of life.
One side of the experience focuses on daily activities in modern Japan, including attending school, forming friendships, pursuing romantic relationships, and creating meaningful personal memories.
At the same time, a darker world exists beneath the surface of ordinary life, filled with disturbing rumors, unexplained urban legends, and occult-related incidents.
These supernatural mysteries can only be confronted by the protagonist and their trusted companions.
Although the Persona series has a history spanning more than three decades, ATLUS notes that each numbered installment tells a complete and independent story.
Because of this approach, players are not required to have played earlier entries to understand the events of Persona 6.
The franchise began in 1996 with Revelations: Persona, originally launched as a spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series.
Over the years, Persona evolved into one of ATLUS’s flagship properties and became one of the most recognizable names in the RPG genre.
According to ATLUS, Persona 6 is intended to serve both as an accessible starting point for first-time players and as a new mystery-filled adventure for long-time fans who have been waiting for the next chapter in the series.
The announcement was accompanied by a debut trailer showcasing the newly revealed game.
