Square Enix Announces New Re-Release for Kingdom Hearts’ Sold Out Music Box

Square Enix is officially bringing back one of its most popular pieces Kingdom Hearts merchandise, as the series heads into a particularly busy period consisting of new releases and an upcoming panel at Disney’s D23 fan event.
The returning Dearly Beloved music box is built around the recurring theme composed by Yoko Shimomura that has accompanied Kingdom Hearts since the original game and has received new arrangements across numerous entries in the series.

Its gentle piano melody has become closely associated with the franchise’s title screens and quieter moments, making it one of the pieces of music most immediately connected with Sora’s journey through the intertwined worlds of Square Enix and Disney.
The music box plays an 18-note mechanical arrangement of Dearly Beloved and first appeared in 2024 before returning several times through additional production runs, with each release wave selling out quickly due to high demand from fans.

Its return also arrives just as Kingdom Hearts is preparing for a major presence at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which takes place in Anaheim from August 14 through August 16, 2026.
The DEEP DIVE into KINGDOM HEARTS panel will celebrate the approaching 25th anniversary of the series and explore how Square Enix, Disney, and Pixar came together to create the franchise, with appearances and insight promised from people involved with its creative history and character performances.

The panel will take place on August 15 at 4:30 PM PT and will also be streamed through Disney’s YouTube channel, allowing fans outside D23 to watch the presentation.
There is plenty happening beyond the anniversary celebrations, with Square Enix recently showing another trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV and confirming that the long-awaited sequel will launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, the Epic Games Store and Steam.

Square Enix has still not announced a release date for Kingdom Hearts IV, leaving the next chapter of Sora’s story as one of the biggest upcoming projects surrounding the franchise.
Fans will have another way to revisit the saga much sooner through Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], which brings the main series collections together for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026, including Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind.

The Kingdom Hearts Dearly Beloved Music Box is priced at ¥2,970 (approx. $19 USD / £14 GBP), with pre-orders currently open through the Square Enix e-STORE in Japan.
The new production run is scheduled for release and delivery in Japan on December 26, 2026, while an official re-release through the Square Enix US store has not currently been announced.
