Square Enix Confirms Kingdom Hearts IV to Launch on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC

Square Enix announced that Kingdom Hearts IV will be available on launch day on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.

While a specific release date for the new title remains unconfirmed, the publisher has shared a new teaser trailer for fans who are eagerly anticipating the game’s release.

The story will follow the journey of Sora through the city of Quadratum as he encounters new figures and gains new powers across various worlds.

The company also confirmed that native ports of the first three Kingdom Hearts collections are coming to the Switch 2.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 with the Re+Mind expansion will all be released on October 8, 2026.

A demo for Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to arrive on the eShop on June 9, 2026.

These native versions will run locally on the hardware instead of relying on cloud streaming technology.

Players who previously used the cloud versions will be able to transfer their save data to the new native releases.

A new gameplay trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV showcased Sora fighting a massive boss and navigating street-level battles against smaller foes.

The classic compilations will be available for purchase individually or as a complete collection when they arrive on October 8, 2026.
