One of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ’s largest and most imposing Neo Zeon machines is finally joining the ROBOT SPIRITS line, with Bandai revealing a new Quin Mantha figure for the anime’s 40th anniversary.

The “ROBOT SPIRITS Quin Mantha ~Marking Plus~” will be the first figure of the massive Mobile Suit ever released in the ROBOT SPIRITS series, and has been announced as part of a much larger wave of premium Gundam ZZ collectibles planned for early 2027.

Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ originally aired in 1986 as the direct sequel to Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, following teenage junk dealer Judau Ashta as he becomes involved with the Argama and ultimately pilots the powerful transformable ZZ Gundam against Haman Karn’s Neo Zeon forces.

Bandai has increasingly returned to the series during its anniversary year, with recent announcements including the long-awaited HG Hamma-Hamma Gunpla alongside new Haman Karn-themed apparel and an upcoming Gundam Card Game expansion featuring Gundam ZZ.

Quin Mantha appears during the closing stages of Gundam ZZ as one of the most powerful machines fielded during Glemy Toto’s rebellion against Haman Karn, with Enhanced Human Ple-Two serving as its pilot.

Developed using technology obtained from the Psycho Gundam Mk-II alongside Neo Zeon’s own advances in Psycommu weapons, the NZ-000 Quin Mantha reaches approximately 40 meters in height within the series, putting it close to twice the size of many conventional Mobile Suits.

Its enormous frame houses nine Mega Particle Cannons and 30 Funnels, allowing Ple-Two to unleash attacks across numerous directions and overwhelm multiple opponents through the Psycommu system.

That sheer scale is part of what makes its first ROBOT SPIRITS appearance particularly interesting, as Bandai will need to translate a machine far larger than most figures in the line while still preserving the imposing proportions seen in the anime.

Only partial prototype images have been revealed at this stage, but they show Bandai staying close to Quin Mantha’s familiar green and white appearance while adding fine panel lines and extensive printed markings across its armor for the Marking Plus treatment.

The enormous shoulder sections, broad chest and sweeping rear armor all appear to retain the proportions that give Quin Mantha such a commanding presence on screen, rather than compressing the design into something closer to a conventional Mobile Suit.

Bandai has yet to disclose the finished figure’s dimensions, included accessories or price, leaving its eventual physical size as one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the release.

ROBOT SPIRITS Quin Mantha ~Marking Plus~ is scheduled for release in March 2027, with its complete specification and pre-order information due to be revealed ahead of reservations opening on September 18.

Quin Mantha is only the first part of Bandai’s much larger Gundam ZZ 40th anniversary figure push, with two additional Mobile Suits and an expansion set also joining the TAMASHII NATIONS lineup.

The first is “THE ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Geymalk [Re: Coordinate],” which revisits the 2014 figure of Chara Soon’s heavily armed Neo Zeon Mobile Suit with revised anime-inspired coloring and pre-printed markings replacing the water-slide decals supplied with the original.

Its approximately 15.5 cm sculpt retains features such as interchangeable mono-eyes, opening foot claws, movable Mega Beam Cannons, and removable Mother Funnels, while the updated reddish-orange, blue, and dark red coloring gives the older release a substantial visual refresh.

Judau’s own upgraded Mobile Suit is also joining the anniversary range through the “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Enhanced ZZ Gundam,” which combines extensive new exterior parts with die-cast components and Hajime Katoki’s printed markings.

The figure preserves the ZZ Gundam’s elaborate combination and transformation system, allowing its Core Fighter, Core Top, and Core Base components to form the completed Mobile Suit before converting into G-Fortress mode.

A separately sold “METAL ROBOT SPIRITS (Ka signature) Full Armor Parts Set for Enhanced ZZ Gundam” will include the extra armor and equipment needed to recreate Full Armor ZZ Gundam.
