Mori Calliope Set to Star in Desktop Mate’s First-Ever hololive Collab DLC

Mori Calliope is becoming the first hololive talent to join Desktop Mate, bringing her Grim Reaper persona to the interactive desktop mascot platform through a newly created 3D model.
The “Desktop Mate Mori Calliope DLC” lets the hololive English singer and rapper move around a user’s computer screen, react to different interactions and speak through completely new voice recordings performed by Calliope herself.

Calliope debuted as a member of hololive English -Myth- and describes herself as the Grim Reaper’s first apprentice, combining that death-themed identity with a career built around rap, songwriting, streaming and live music.

Her expanding range of official collaborations has also included being paired with Gundam Epyon in the second wave of Gundam’s ongoing hololive crossover earlier this year.

Desktop Mate is a desktop mascot application that places animated 3D characters directly over a computer workspace, allowing them to sit on windows, interact with the mouse and perform different actions while other programs remain open.
The platform has previously featured characters including NieR’s 2B, with Calliope now marking its first official collaboration with hololive Production.

Her new model was created under Cover Corp’s supervision and incorporates a wide selection of animations built around both sides of her personality, from confident Grim Reaper poses to more playful reactions when users interact with her.
While standing, Calliope can fold her arms, look down toward the user or pull the large scythe from her back before swinging it down in a full attack motion.

Moving her toward the edge of the desktop causes her to hide partially behind the side of the screen before peeking back out, with separate poses created for the left and right sides.

Her seated animations include resting her chin on her hand while lost in thought, tapping the scythe against her shoulder and crossing her legs while drinking from a wine glass.

The DLC also makes more direct use of Calliope’s fan community when users pet her, initially causing her to happily react before she attempts to remind herself that she is supposed to be a Grim Reaper.
Pink hearts and skulls representing her fans, known as the Dead Beats, appear around her during the interaction, before her Grim Reaper mentor also makes an appearance on the screen.

Poking Calliope produces a different set of reactions, ranging from an irritated wave and sigh to a much angrier outburst, while picking her up by either the waist or hand triggers separate animations.
The alarm function gives her another dedicated sequence, with Calliope jumping onto the screen, spinning her scythe above her head and resting it across her shoulder before striking a pose to announce the time.

All of the DLC’s dialogue was newly recorded by Mori Calliope in both English and Japanese, with users able to switch freely between the two languages from the settings menu.
Desktop Mate’s Multi-Character Mode will also allow Calliope to appear alongside another compatible mascot at the same time, although the feature is not currently supported by the Mac version while it remains in open beta.

The “Desktop Mate Mori Calliope DLC” launches through Steam on October 29, 2026 in Japan for Windows and Mac, priced at ¥2,200 (approx. $14 USD / £10 GBP), with the base Desktop Mate application required to use it.
Steam currently displays an October 28 release date in some regions because of the time-zone difference, while Infinite Loop’s official announcement lists October 29 as the Japanese launch date.
