New Master Grade Gundam SEED model kit can transform into four-legged “Brute Mode”
A new, exclusive Gunpla model kit has been announced for the “Master Grade” (MG) line, featuring the Gundam Astray Mirage Frame Second Issue.
Master Grade is a popular line of 1/100 scale model kits known for a high level of detail and complex internal frames.
This new kit is based on a mobile suit from the manga series “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED VS ASTRAY”.
The Mirage Frame Second Issue is a further modification of the original Mirage Frame, piloted by the Carbon Human clone, Rondo Ghina Sahaku.
This new model has been created under the supervision of the original mecha designer, Junichi Akutsu.
A key feature of this mobile suit is its ability to transform into a monstrous, four-legged “Brute Mode,” and this gimmick has been faithfully recreated in the model kit.
The transformation from the standard, humanoid style “Tyrant Mode” to “Brute Mode” can be achieved without the need to swap any parts.
The kit comes with a wide variety of armaments and accessories, which include:
- A beam rifle
- Beam saber effects
- An anti-beam shield
- A “C-Sword Type A”
- A “C-Sword Type B”
- A pilot figure of Rondo Ghina Sahaku
- A new sheet of water-slide decals
- A dedicated action base
The “MG 1/00 Gundam Astray Mirage Frame Second Issue” is a Premium Bandai exclusive item, priced at ¥6,600 (approx. $45 USD/£33 GBP).
Pre-orders for the figure opened on the Premium Bandai website on Friday, the 12th of September, at 12:00 PM Japan Standard Time.
The figure is scheduled to be shipped in November 2025.
