Toho Unveils Limited Edition Godzilla-Themed Wireless Gaming Controller

Bteam has partnered with Toho to introduce a special Godzilla-themed version of its Specter Wireless Game Controller, combining the iconic kaiju’s imagery with the company’s gaming hardware platform.
Designed to reflect the immense power and intimidating presence associated with the King of the Monsters, the controller adopts a visual style intended to resemble equipment drawn directly from the world of Godzilla films.

Rather than simply adding character artwork to an existing design, the collaboration incorporates Godzilla-inspired themes throughout the controller’s appearance and presentation.

The exterior features a dark, textured shell accented by dramatic claw-mark patterns and glowing red crack-like details that evoke scenes of destruction and raw energy.

One of the most prominent design elements is the front faceplate, which showcases Godzilla in a classic poses.
The artwork, color choices, and overall composition were created to resemble the dramatic look of vintage Japanese monster movie posters while celebrating the broader Godzilla universe.

Despite the extensive visual redesign, Bteam has retained the ergonomic form factor that defines the Specter series.
The controller preserves its streamlined shape and palm-friendly grip, allowing for comfortable handling during lengthy gaming sessions.

This approach ensures that the collaboration functions not only as a collectible display piece but also as a practical controller intended for everyday use.
Performance remains a major focus, with the Godzilla Edition incorporating specially tuned Hall Effect analog sticks designed to provide accurate and consistent control while reducing the likelihood of stick drift over time.

The controller also features two-stage linear Hall Effect triggers that deliver precise input response across a range of gaming genres, including first-person shooters, racing titles, and action games.
Additional functionality includes Turbo auto-fire support and programmable rear buttons, offering greater flexibility for rapid inputs, combo execution, and situations requiring quick reactions.

Players who frequently move between different gaming ecosystems can take advantage of Bteam’s QuickSwap system, which allows button layouts to be changed to match platform-specific control conventions such as those found on Xbox and Nintendo Switch devices.
The controller is also compatible with the KeyLinker companion application, enabling users to adjust vibration strength, remap buttons, fine-tune joystick and trigger dead zones, create macros, and customize other control settings to suit individual preferences.

For competitive play, the device supports polling rates of up to 1000Hz, reducing input latency and helping deliver fast and responsive control during gameplay.
A four-motor vibration system has been integrated to provide detailed haptic feedback capable of simulating a variety of in-game sensations, including weapon recoil, vehicle movement, and powerful impact effects.

The controller further includes a one-button wake function that can power on a connected console quickly and conveniently.
Motion-based gameplay is supported through a high-precision six-axis gyroscope, allowing movement and orientation controls to be translated naturally into compatible games.

The collaboration extends beyond the controller itself and includes additional officially licensed accessories themed around Godzilla.
Among these are the Bteam Scabbard Controller Carrying Case Godzilla Edition and the Bteam Spark Joystick Caps Godzilla Edition, both designed to complement the controller and create a coordinated gaming setup inspired by the famous monster.

The entire collection has been produced under an official licensing agreement with Toho, ensuring that the products are authorized representations of the Godzilla brand.
The Specter Wireless Game Controller Godzilla Edition is priced at $69.63 USD (approx. £51 GBP), while the Godzilla Edition Scabbard carrying case is priced at $15.80 USD (approx. £12 GBP) and the Godzilla Edition Spark joystick caps are available for $6.30 USD (approx. £5 GBP) via the official Bteam online store.
