Maison de FLEUR celebrates 50 years of Sanrio’s “Ichigo Shimbun” with new collection

Japanese fashion brand Maison de FLEUR has announced a new collaboration with the Sanrio publication, “Gekkan Ichigo Shimbun,” or the “Monthly Strawberry News.”
This new collection of bags, pouches, and charms is being released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the long-running official Sanrio newspaper.

Maison de FLEUR is a popular brand known for its elegant and feminine designs, which often feature ribbons and frills.
The theme for this special anniversary collaboration is “strawberries,” and it marks the first-ever appearance of the newspaper’s main character, “Ichigo no Ōsama,” or “The Strawberry King,” in a Maison de FLEUR collection.

The product lineup features a total of ten different items, including a new version of the brand’s popular, annually released strawberry-shaped bag.
The full collection is as follows:
- Ichigo Shimbun – Strawberry Shoulder Bag: ¥13,200

- Ichigo Shimbun – Strawberry Pouch: ¥4,700

The strawberry-shaped shoulder bag and pouch have been updated for this collaboration with special details, including pearls arranged to look like strawberry seeds and a green ribbon to represent the leaves.
- Ichigo Shimbun – Frill Tote Bag (Ivory or Pink Beige): ¥7,000

The frilled tote bag is available in two different colors, each decorated with new, original artwork of The Strawberry King and Sanrio characters.

- Ichigo Shimbun – Charm: ¥3,700

These new plush charms feature The Strawberry King and other popular Sanrio characters, such as Hello Kitty and My Melody, dressed in strawberry-themed outfits with red ribbons.

The bags and pouches also feature a custom inner lining with an all-over print created for the collaboration.

The new “Maison de FLEUR x Ichigo Shimbun” collection will first be released on the official “STRIPE CLUB” e-commerce site and on ZOZOTOWN on Monday, the 22nd of September, at 8:00 PM Japan Standard Time.
The in-store release at all physical Maison de FLEUR retail locations across Japan will follow on Tuesday, the 23rd of September, 2025.
