McDonald’s Japan Reveals New Gundam Collab Menu

McDonald’s Japan has officially announced a new collaboration with the immensely popular Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise, featuring classic characters like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.
The new collaborative menu will see the seasonal Chicken Tatsuta burger range, and a host of refreshing side dishes, take on a Gundam theme for 2026.

Mobile Suit Gundam is a legendary mecha anime series that originally debuted in 1979 and revolutionized the giant robot genre.
The franchise focuses on the intense interstellar conflicts between Earth and various space colonies, featuring iconic mobile suits and complex political dramas.
To celebrate this unique crossover, a brand-new original mecha design officially named the Gundam Chicken Tatsuta Custom has been revealed:

A special fully animated television commercial will also begin broadcasting to promote the new menu.

The promotional video mimics the nostalgic style of the original anime’s next episode previews:
It features Amuro Ray piloting the new custom mobile suit to defend the seasonal burgers from his legendary rival Char Aznable.
Other fan-favorite characters such as Bright Noa, Lalah Sune, Gaia, and the adorable mascot Haro also make appearances holding the tasty treats.

Each burger will be served in special limited-edition packaging adorned with iconic artwork:

Fans can collect wrappers and boxes displaying Amuro, Char, a Zaku, and the legendary “Last Shooting” scene.
