The new trailer highlights the theme song titled Be My Baby which is performed by the seven-member male idol group Naniwa Danshi.

Group member Kyohei Takahashi stars in the title role of Yamaguchi-kun and sings the theme song in the Kansai dialect.

The lyrics for the track are specifically tied to the film’s narrative and the personal journey of the protagonist.

While Yamaguchi-kun is the only character speaking the Kansai dialect in the story, co-stars Hikaru Takahashi and Hiroshi Iwase also hail from the Kansai region.

Hikaru Takahashi portrays the character Satsuki while Hiroshi Iwase plays Ishizaki in a story that hints at a complicated love triangle.

The original manga by Yuu Saiki has been serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine since September 2019 and has compiled 12 volumes as of March 2026.

The plot follows shy student Satsuki Shinohara, who seeks to prove that the misunderstood gangster Yamaguchi-kun is a kind person despite his intimidating reputation.

Kodansha USA currently handles the English edition of the manga for international readers.
