Tales of Series 30th Anniversary Café Set to Open This July

The Tales of series is kicking off another major part of its 30th anniversary celebration, with the first phase of a brand-new collaboration café officially confirmed for later this month.
The Tales of franchise debuted in 1995 with Tales of Phantasia and has since become one of Bandai Namco’s longest-running RPG series, earning a loyal global fanbase thanks to its memorable characters, real-time battle systems and interconnected legacy spanning multiple generations of games.

The new event is part of the “ufotable × Production I.G ~The Journey Woven by RPGs~” anniversary project, which brings together the two animation studios that have helped shape the animated history of the Tales of series over the years.

As part of the project, ufotable and Production I.G are creating a total of 188 brand-new illustrations covering every mainline Tales title released to date.
The project’s main key artwork is being produced by renowned artists Akira Matsushima and Noriyuki Matsutake.

Newly illustrated artwork from Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia and Tales of Xillia has already been revealed and additional illustrations representing more entries from the franchise will continue to be released every month throughout the anniversary celebration.

The first collaboration café is expected to feature themed food and drinks inspired by the games which have so far received new illustrations, allowing visitors to enjoy menus based on characters and adventures from across multiple titles in the series.

Each month, new illustrations for further titles will be created and the café menus will also change to incorporate dishes based on the latest games to be featured in the overall project.
Exclusive merchandise featuring the newly commissioned anniversary artwork will also be available to purchase in person at the cafés, as well as online at a later date.

The first phase of the Tales of series 30th anniversary collaboration café will be held at Machi★Asobi CAFE TOKYO, ufotable Cafe/Machi★Asobi CAFE Kitakyushu and ufotable Cafe TOKUSHIMA from July 28 through August 23, 2026.
The complete lineup of collaboration menu items and exclusive merchandise will be announced shortly before the start of the first café opening dates.
