Build-A-Bear Reveals New Sanrio Frosted Friends Collection Starring Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Pochacco
Image by James RichardsonSanrio’s Hello Kitty and her friends are getting adorable new winter makeovers as Build-A-Bear launches its latest holiday collaboration, transforming three popular characters with frosted colors, shimmering details and matching seasonal outfits.
The new “Sanrio Frosted” collection features special plush versions of Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Pochacco, accompanied by winter clothing and gift sets that allow fans to purchase their favorite characters already dressed for the colder weather.
Build-A-Bear has become a popular destination for Sanrio fans, offering customizable plush versions of the Japanese brand’s characters that can be dressed in exclusive outfits and personalized with sounds, scents and other accessories.
For its latest collection, Build-A-Bear has given each character a new appearance inspired by snow and ice, moving away from their traditional colors in favor of pale blues, snowy whites and shimmering winter finishes.
Hello Kitty receives one of the biggest transformations, replacing her usual white fur with a sparkling light-blue finish, blue eyes and a shiny pink bow on her left ear.
Pochacco retains his white fur but introduces blue accents and glittering silver snowflakes across his signature floppy ears, while Kuromi swaps her usual black hood for a snow-white appearance decorated with frosted blue details.
Sanrio has also been giving its characters seasonal makeovers through other merchandise collections, including the recently released Spooky Bat Series, which dressed Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and other characters in matching Halloween bat costumes.

The new winter collection also follows Sanrio’s recently revealed Holiday Lolita merchandise range, which gives Hello Kitty, Kuromi and several other characters Christmas-inspired outfits featuring decorative frills, bows and miniature Santa hats.
Unlike Sanrio’s smaller plush mascots, Build-A-Bear’s full-sized characters are designed to be customized, with buyers able to choose whether their plush arrives already stuffed or unstuffed for a traditional Build-A-Bear experience.
The new “Sanrio Frosted” collection officially launched through Build-A-Bear’s US online store on November 5, 2026, with the individual plush, clothing and gift sets available to purchase now.
The Frosted Kuromi plush, matching dress and gift set are designated online exclusives, while the Hello Kitty and Pochacco products are also eligible for availability at participating Build-A-Bear Workshop locations.
