Hello Kitty and Friends Transform Into Adorable Bats for Sanrio’s Exclusive New Halloween Collection
Image by James RichardsonSanrio has launched a new Halloween plush collection in the US, transforming five of its most popular characters into adorable bats with matching spooky costumes and colorful accessories.
The new “Spooky Bat Series” features Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Chococat, with each character receiving a miniature plush mascot designed to be attached to bags, backpacks and other accessories.

Since Hello Kitty’s debut in 1974, Sanrio has expanded its cast of characters to include dozens of familiar faces, with seasonal merchandise collections regularly introducing new outfits and themes inspired by Halloween, Christmas and other celebrations.

The new collection takes a playful approach to Halloween, dressing each character in a soft gray bat costume featuring a hood, small wings and an embroidered skeleton design across the chest.
Coordinating satin bows and striped stockings add a splash of color to the otherwise matching outfits, with individual accents inspired by each character’s signature appearance.

Hello Kitty’s design incorporates her familiar red bow alongside matching embroidery and red-and-white stockings, with My Melody receiving a pink variation that allows her long ears to emerge from the sides of the bat hood.

Kuromi’s plush retains her familiar black hood and pink skull beneath the costume, accompanied by purple accents and pink-and-purple striped stockings.

Cinnamoroll’s long white ears also extend outside his gray hood, with a light-blue ribbon, blue-striped stockings and purple skeleton embroidery complementing his appearance.

Chococat completes the collection with his black face, pointed ears and whiskers, accompanied by orange details across his costume and purple embroidery across the chest.

All five plush mascots measure approximately 13 cm tall and include colorful plastic clips, allowing them to be attached to everyday accessories or displayed as part of a larger Sanrio collection.
The collection follows several other Sanrio Halloween releases during 2026, including the “PUNKS Party” prize collection, which gave Hello Kitty, Kuromi and eight other characters a darker makeover inspired by punk rock fashion.

Sanrio also recently teamed up with Godiva for a special Halloween collection, transforming Pompompurin and Kuromi into black cats for a series of exclusive plush charms and chocolate gift sets.

All five “Spooky Bat Series” plush mascot clips are available to order now through Sanrio’s official US online store, priced at $29 each.
