Sanrio Reveals Exclusive New Holiday Lolita Collection Starring Hello Kitty, Kuromi and My Melody

Sanrio has officially revealed a new Christmas-themed merchandise collection that gives Hello Kitty and her friends Lolita-inspired makeovers.
The “Sanrio Characters Holiday Lolita” collection sees Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, My Sweet Piano, Cogimyun and Wish Me Mell dressed in elaborate seasonal outfits decorated with frills, bows and miniature Santa hats.

Produced by Japanese confectionery and merchandise manufacturer Heart, the range includes plush ornaments, character head dresses, a wreath cushion, a cake-shaped cookie tin and smaller collectible accessories.

First introduced in 1974, Hello Kitty has become one of Sanrio’s most popular characters worldwide, regularly appearing alongside other members of its lineup in seasonal merchandise and special collaborations.

The costumes take inspiration from Lolita fashion, a Japanese street style known for its decorative dresses, lace and ribbons, with influences from Victorian and Rococo clothing.

Let’s take a look at the full collection!
- Holiday Lolita Character Ornaments (6 designs): ¥2,200 each (approximately $14 / £10)

Six small plush mascots featuring the characters in their Christmas outfits, each measuring approximately 13 cm tall.

The mascots come with 3 individually wrapped ramune candies in ornament-style packaging that can be hung from a Christmas tree and can also be attached to bags, with all six designs available individually.
- Holiday Lolita Head Dresses (6 designs): ¥2,200 each (approximately $14 / £10)

Wearable headpieces inspired by the six Sanrio characters, decorated with matching ears, ribbons, lace and small Santa hats.

Each measures approximately 55 cm and allows fans to accessorize their own outfits with designs inspired by their favorite characters.

- Holiday Lolita Wreath Cushion: ¥2,200 (approximately $14 / £10)

A round cushion measuring approximately 30 cm across, styled after a Christmas wreath and decorated with illustrations created for the collaboration.
- Holiday Lolita Whole Cake Tin: ¥1,650 (approximately $10 / £8)
A decorative metal tin shaped like a Christmas cake and covered in colorful Sanrio character artwork.

Measuring approximately 15 × 15 × 8 cm, the tin contains five individually packaged portions of cookies.

- Holiday Lolita Plush Straps (6 designs): ¥5,280 per box of six (approximately $33 / £25)
Miniature plush face straps based on the six characters, with each measuring up to approximately 9 cm tall.

The straps come in mystery packaging, so buyers won’t know which design they’ve received until opening the packet, and purchasing a complete box doesn’t guarantee all six characters.

Individual packs will also be available at general retail for ¥880 each (approximately $6 / £4).
- Holiday Lolita Winter Acrylic Keychains (6 designs): ¥3,960 per box of six (approximately $25 / £19)
Six glittering acrylic keychains inspired by snow globes, each decorated with a festive illustration of a Sanrio character and measuring approximately 9.8 cm tall.

Like the plush straps, these are sold in randomly assorted packaging, with individual packs priced at ¥660 (approximately $4 / £3).

For Christmas 2025, Sanrio released a separate collection of festive plush mascots and collectible snow globes, with designs inspired by wreaths, gingerbread cookies and other seasonal decorations.

Sanrio also explored dessert-inspired merchandise in September 2026 with a chocolate-themed Hello Kitty collection, introducing plush mascots, bags, pouches and other accessories featuring characters such as My Melody, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll.

Pre-orders for the “Sanrio Characters Holiday Lolita” collection are currently open through Premium Bandai Japan’s Heart Premium Store until October 22, 2026, at 11:00 PM JST, with orders scheduled to ship in November.
The collection is also scheduled to launch at select physical retailers across Japan on October 26, 2026.
