Gundam’s New Japan Inspired Fashion Collection Gets Official US Release

Bandai has confirmed a US release for a new pair of T-shirts inspired by traditional Japanese brush artwork that combines two of Mobile Suit Gundam’s most iconic machines with Mount Fuji.
The new “STRICT-G JAPAN Mobile Suit Gundam T-Shirt” collection pairs the RX-78-2 Gundam with a blue-toned Mount Fuji design, while Char Aznable’s red Zaku II is placed alongside Red Fuji for a contrasting second release.

STRICT-G JAPAN is part of Bandai’s official Gundam fashion label and focuses on combining imagery from the franchise with Japanese art, craftsmanship and design, previously using everything from traditional ceramics to brush-style reinterpretations of Gunpla box art.

That latter approach recently produced the first STRICT-G JAPAN fashion collection based on Gunpla packaging artwork, which followed Amuro Ray and Char Aznable across six Mobile Suits ranging from the original Gundam and Char’s Zaku II through to ν Gundam and Sazabi.

The Gundam design places the RX-78-2 against Mount Fuji, combining the white, blue, red, and yellow colors of Amuro’s Mobile Suit with a more traditional Japanese landscape motif.

Char’s Zaku II receives a matching Red Fuji design, using the naturally red-toned appearance sometimes seen across Mount Fuji at sunrise to complement the Mobile Suit most closely associated with Char’s “Red Comet” identity.

STRICT-G has previously paired Char with similar imagery through a Shizuoka-exclusive Red Fuji collection released earlier this year, which extended the theme across a wider range of apparel and accessories.

This latest collection also arrives shortly after Bandai launched STRICT-G RUNWAY, a new Gundam fashion line beginning with Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, Lacus Clyne and Cagalli Yula Athha from Gundam SEED FREEDOM.

US pre-orders for both Mount Fuji T-shirts, priced at $55, are now open exclusively through Premium Bandai US until November 13, with shipping set for December 2026.
