Bandai is giving four of Gundam SEED FREEDOM’s central characters entirely new off-duty looks as part of a new official fashion project from STRICT-G.
“STRICT-G RUNWAY” imagines how Gundam characters might dress on their days off, with its debut 2026 fall/winter collection built around Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, Lacus Clyne and Cagalli Yula Athha.

STRICT-G is Bandai’s dedicated Gundam fashion label, regularly turning characters, Mobile Suits and factions from across the franchise into clothing designed for everyday wear.

Gundam SEED FREEDOM has become an increasingly regular part of the label’s output, with Athrun receiving his own dedicated STRICT-G capsule collection in September 2026 featuring casual clothing based on his appearance in the movie.

The new RUNWAY project expands that approach across four characters at once, with outerwear, shirts, denim, sneakers, bags and winter accessories forming coordinated wardrobes rather than isolated pieces of merchandise.

Several established Japanese brands are also involved in the debut collection, including nishikawa for its premium recycled-down outerwear, EDWIN for denim, and SPINGLE for leather sneakers.
The complete “STRICT-G RUNWAY 2026AW” apparel lineup includes:
- “STRICT-G nishikawa Gundam SEED FREEDOM Recycled Down Parka” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥39,600 each (approx. $251 USD / £188 GBP)

Kira and Athrun each receive hooded winter parkas using nishikawa recycled down, with character-related patches and Mobile Suit imagery incorporated into the designs.

- “STRICT-G nishikawa Gundam SEED FREEDOM Recycled Down Jacket” – Lacus Clyne / Cagalli Yula Athha – ¥38,500 each (approx. $244 USD / £183 GBP)

Lacus and Cagalli receive their own nishikawa outerwear designs as part of the collection’s heavier winter range.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Boa Jacket” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥19,800 each (approx. $126 USD / £94 GBP)

Separate Kira and Athrun versions provide another cold-weather option within their respective outfits.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Reversible Fleece Nylon Jacket” – Athrun Zala / Cagalli Yula Athha – ¥19,800 each (approx. $126 USD / £94 GBP)

The reversible jackets give Athrun and Cagalli an additional layered piece designed to work with the wider RUNWAY styling.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM T-Shirt” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥5,500 each (approx. $35 USD / £26 GBP)

Kira and Athrun each receive a character-specific short-sleeve shirt within the first collection.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Long-Sleeve T-Shirt” – Lacus Clyne / Cagalli Yula Athha – ¥5,720 each (approx. $36 USD / £27 GBP)

Lacus and Cagalli receive matching long-sleeve options rather than the short-sleeve shirts used for Kira and Athrun.

- “STRICT-G EDWIN Gundam SEED FREEDOM E404 Jeans” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥16,500 each (approx. $105 USD / £79 GBP)

EDWIN has created separate Kira and Athrun versions of its E404 denim jeans for the collection.

- “STRICT-G SPINGLE Gundam SEED FREEDOM Leather Sneakers” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥27,500 each (approx. $175 USD / £131 GBP)

Kira and Athrun’s outfits extend to character-specific leather sneakers created with Japanese footwear brand SPINGLE.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Tote Bag” – Kira Yamato / Athrun Zala – ¥4,400 each (approx. $28 USD / £21 GBP)

Separate tote bags complete the accessory side of Kira and Athrun’s styling.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Shoulder Bag” – Lacus Clyne / Cagalli Yula Athha – ¥5,500 each (approx. $35 USD / £26 GBP)

Lacus and Cagalli instead receive character-specific shoulder bags within their respective looks.

- “STRICT-G Gundam SEED FREEDOM Scarf” – Lacus Clyne / Cagalli Yula Athha – ¥4,400 each (approx. $28 USD / £21 GBP)

The two scarves complete the initial winter lineup for Lacus and Cagalli.

The project continues STRICT-G’s recent focus on character-led Gundam SEED FREEDOM fashion, which has also included official Athrun and Cagalli ALPHA INDUSTRIES flight jackets returning to the US earlier this year.

The launch is also being tied to a month-long collaboration with Japanese brand HiKESHi SPiRiT, with a pop-up store in Asakusa featuring the STRICT-G RUNWAY collection alongside separate Gundam merchandise inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics.

A Gundam SEED FREEDOM collaboration café will operate from the same HiKESHi SPiRiT location, although its menu, opening hours, and entry arrangements have yet to be announced.

Purchases of qualifying STRICT-G RUNWAY items will also include newly illustrated character cards featuring the four debut models, while purchases made through STRICT-G stores and the HiKESHi SPiRiT pop-up will additionally include one random illustrated tag per item.

Premium Bandai Japan pre-orders for “STRICT-G RUNWAY 2026AW” open on October 30, 2026 at 1 PM JST, followed by sales through STRICT-G stores and the HiKESHi SPiRiT pop-up from October 31.

The nishikawa down outerwear, boa jackets, and reversible fleece jackets are scheduled to follow on November 14, while the HiKESHi SPiRiT pop-up runs through November 30.
No US release through Premium Bandai US has been announced at this stage, though most STRICT-G collections do appear there eventually, so it’s worth checking back regularly to see if pre-orders have opened yet.
