Thirty newly composed tracks have now been confirmed for Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO’s official soundtrack, alongside the reveal of two new pieces of artwork starring Shinn Asuka, Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala.
The “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO Original Soundtrack” is composed by longtime SEED composer Toshihiko Sahashi and will be available on CD and as a limited two-LP vinyl set, with each format receiving a different newly drawn cover.

Sahashi has shaped the music of the Cosmic Era since the original Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, subsequently returning for SEED DESTINY and the 2024 movie SEED FREEDOM before composing the score for the upcoming prequel.

All 30 tracks have been created specifically for FREEDOM ZERO and recorded with a large orchestral ensemble, covering music for its battle sequences alongside pieces written around the story and its characters.
The newly revealed CD artwork places Shinn at the center between Kira and Athrun, with all three pilots wearing serious expressions against a predominantly red background.

Its vinyl counterpart uses a separate sepia-toned illustration of the same trio, replacing the more intense expressions of the CD artwork with a noticeably calmer portrayal of Shinn, Kira, and Athrun.

The soundtrack accompanies Gundam SEED’s return to cinemas with FREEDOM ZERO, which takes place between SEED DESTINY and SEED FREEDOM and follows Shinn during C.E.74 as the international peacekeeping organization COMPASS is being established.

Its story begins after the collapse of Gilbert Durandal’s Destiny Plan, with Shinn struggling to determine his next path before the Strike Freedom Gundam is stolen from COMPASS’ temporary base on Onogoro Island.

Kira and Athrun are among several major returning characters, alongside Lacus Clyne, Cagalli Yula Athha and Lunamaria Hawke, while the prequel will also introduce new events and Mobile Suit configurations that lead into SEED FREEDOM.

Bandai has already started translating those designs into merchandise, including three new High Grade Gunpla kits based on FREEDOM ZERO featuring the Infinite Justice Gundam, Murasame Kai and Gouf Ignited Custom.

Takanori Nishikawa is likely to be the most popular candidate with fans for the new theme song, having performed several of Gundam SEED’s best-known songs as T.M.Revolution, including “INVOKE,” “Meteor,” “ignited” and “vestige”.

He most recently returned to the Cosmic Era alongside t.komuro for SEED FREEDOM’s theme song “FREEDOM,” making his possible involvement in FREEDOM ZERO an almost too obvious choice in terms of continuity.

The soundtrack itself will be sold in three physical editions, beginning with a first-run limited CD containing the complete score in a three-sided outer case.
That edition also includes a microfiber handkerchief and a 2027 calendar card, while first-press copies of the standard CD will receive the same calendar card without the additional limited-edition extras.
The vinyl version will spread the soundtrack across two heavyweight LPs and is being produced as a limited-run edition using the separate sepia artwork.

Participating Japanese retailers will also offer bonuses based on the newly drawn illustrations, with items varying between clear jackets, oversized cover reproductions, photo cards, acrylic keychains, coasters and an acrylic stand depending on the store and format purchased.
The limited and standard CD editions of the “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO Original Soundtrack” will be released in Japan alongside the movie on January 15, 2027, priced at ¥4,400 (approx. $28/£21) and ¥3,300 (approx. $21/£16), respectively.
The limited two-LP vinyl edition will follow on February 24, 2027 for ¥8,800 (approx. $56/£42), with Japanese pre-orders now open through participating retailers.
A separate SEED music project will arrive the following day, with “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Song Collection SEED SONGS” due on January 16, 2027, one day after FREEDOM ZERO and its soundtrack debut in Japan.

That 15-track collection spans the original series, SEED DESTINY, and SEED FREEDOM through theme and insert songs, while also including one completely new track whose artist remains unannounced.
