The new “HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited Custom” recreates a previously unseen version of the ZAFT Mobile Suit that will make its debut in the prequel, featuring a revised design and updated weaponry.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO is the prequel to the hugely successful 2024 movie Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, taking place between the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY and the beginning of the later film.

The story follows Shinn Asuka and several returning characters during C.E.74, as the international peacekeeping organization COMPASS is being established following the collapse of Gilbert Durandal’s Destiny Plan.

The original Gouf Ignited appeared in Gundam SEED DESTINY as a high-performance ZAFT Mobile Suit, with customized versions piloted by characters including Heine Westenfluss and Yzak Joule.
Bandai first revealed the new Gouf Ignited Custom during New York Comic Con earlier this month, alongside High Grade kits of the Infinite Justice Gundam & Booster Unit and Murasame Kai (Early Production Type) from the upcoming movie.

The kit incorporates Bandai’s SEED Action System, allowing builders to recreate dynamic combat poses inspired by the anime.

Its Beam Sword features a built-in storage and extension mechanism that can be operated without swapping parts, allowing the weapon to be deployed directly from its stored configuration.

The Slayer Whip is supplied in both extended and curved versions, with its superheated appearance reproduced using specially molded plastic.

Additional accessories include interchangeable hand parts and a sticker sheet for completing the Mobile Suit’s markings.
The release follows Bandai’s newly redesigned High Grade Gouf Ignited (Heine Westenfluss Custom), which launched in July 2026 with updated articulation and weapons based on Heine’s orange Mobile Suit from Gundam SEED DESTINY.

Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO is also receiving several other figures and model kits, including a new METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Infinite Justice Gundam featuring a redesigned head and previously unseen shield equipment.

Bandai Namco Filmworks has meanwhile confirmed a January 15, 2027 theatrical release for Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO in Japan, with a North American theatrical release scheduled to follow in February.

The “HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited Custom” is officially scheduled for release in Japan during April 2027, with a retail price of ¥3,190 (approximately $20 / £15).
Japanese hobby retailers began accepting pre-orders on October 15, 2026, with Bandai yet to confirm an official US release date or availability through international channels such as Premium Bandai US.
