Dragon Ball Recreates Its Classic Anime Ending for New 2027 Release Starring Goku and Bulma

MegaHouse is bringing one of the original Dragon Ball anime’s classic ending scenes to life with a new figure starring young Goku and Bulma.
The “Desktop Real McCoy EX Dragon Ball Son Goku & Bulma & Dinosaur” is the fourth release in MegaHouse’s premium figure series, depicting the pair riding a dinosaur in a scene inspired directly by the 1986 television anime.

Dragon Ball originally began as a manga by Akira Toriyama in 1984 before receiving its first television adaptation in 1986, following a young Goku whose chance meeting with Bulma sent them on an adventure to collect the seven Dragon Balls.

Long before the Saiyan battles and transformations that would define Dragon Ball Z, the original story placed a much greater emphasis on exploration, comedy, and the unlikely friendship between its two central characters.
That adventurous spirit was also reflected in the anime’s original ending sequence, accompanied by “Romantic Ageru yo,” performed by Ushio Hashimoto, which was included in the series’ classic soundtrack that received a limited vinyl re-release in 2025.

MegaHouse’s Desktop Real McCoy series specializes in turning memorable Dragon Ball illustrations and scenes into detailed tabletop figures, often combining characters with vehicles or other large elements from Toriyama’s world.

Previous releases have included Goku and Gohan riding a two-legged robot, while the original Desktop Real McCoy lineup also featured Goku and Bulma together on a motorcycle, a figure first released in 2018 that is receiving a limited revival edition in 2027.

The new dinosaur scene takes that approach further, with Goku and Bulma displaying very different reactions to their unusual mode of transport.

Goku sits confidently at the front in a purple martial arts outfit, grinning enthusiastically while holding a long-handled sword as the dinosaur charges forward.

Bulma, meanwhile, looks considerably less comfortable with the situation, clinging desperately to the creature’s raised tail with a startled expression.

The dinosaur is equally important to the display, with its open jaws revealing rows of teeth beneath a horned helmet decorated with wing-like ornaments.

An orange saddle covering, reins, and red decorative knots add further detail across its body, matching the colorful design seen in the original animation.

The creature’s pose has one rear leg raised as it runs, with a sculpted cloud of dust beneath its feet helping create the impression of the trio charging into their next adventure.

Measuring approximately 17 cm tall, the completed figure includes a dedicated display base and was sculpted by POLY-TOYS, with painting handled by Ryoma Kuki of Pinpoint.
Goku and Bulma’s earliest adventures have also inspired several other figures this year, including Bandai’s Dragon Ball Fantastic Adventure 3 Ichiban Kuji collection, which features the pair riding in the Ox-King’s car and a separate scene recreating their very first meeting.

Another recent release has revisited Toriyama’s original manga artwork, with Bandai revealing a new version of a figure featuring young Goku riding the dragon from Dragon Ball Volume 1 for the official Dragon Ball Store in Tokyo.

Pre-orders for the “Desktop Real McCoy EX Dragon Ball Son Goku & Bulma & Dinosaur,” priced at ¥27,280 (approximately $173 / £128), will open in Japan on November 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM JST through Premium Bandai Japan, Jump Characters Store, Toei Animation Official Store, and AmiAmi.
The pre-order window is expected to close in early January 2027, with the completed figure scheduled to ship in late May 2027.
