Gundam Gives SEED’s Athrun Zala His Own Official Fashion Collection

Athrun Zala is getting a new capsule collection from Bandai’s official Gundam fashion label STRICT-G, with four releases inspired by his appearance in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom.
The collection combines a T-shirt, hoodie, and shorts designed for warmer weather with a matching clear bottle, giving fans a complete group of items centered specifically on one of the movie’s most important returning characters.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom continues the story of Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny, with Athrun once again playing a major role alongside Kira Yamato, Lacus Clyne and Cagalli Yula Athha.

STRICT-G has previously used Athrun across several Gundam SEED Freedom releases, including an ALPHA INDUSTRIES MA-1 NATUS jacket and dedicated SWANS sunglasses, with the new capsule providing a more casual group of items that can also be worn alongside the eyewear.

All three apparel releases include contact-cooling, UV protection and moisture-wicking quick-dry functionality, making the collection particularly suited to warmer weather and outdoor use.
The “STRICT-G Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Dry T-Shirt Athrun Zala,” priced at ¥4,950 (approx. $31 USD / £23 GBP), comes in burgundy and uses a cotton and nylon blend across the main body.

Its darker red color gives the shirt an immediate connection to Athrun without relying on the brighter character graphics often used for anime apparel, allowing it to work more easily as everyday clothing.
The “STRICT-G Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Dry Half Pants Athrun Zala,” priced at ¥6,050 (approx. $38 USD / £28 GBP), switch to navy while retaining the same cotton and nylon construction and functional material treatment used across the wider apparel collection.

The “STRICT-G Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Dry Hoodie Athrun Zala,” priced at ¥6,600 (approx. $41 USD / £30 GBP), also uses navy and provides a lightweight outer layer designed to coordinate directly with the matching shorts.

Together, the three clothing releases give the Athrun collection a more coordinated sportswear appearance than a conventional group of individually designed character T-shirts.

The final release is the “STRICT-G Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom Clear Bottle Athrun Zala,” priced at ¥2,420 (approx. $15 USD / £11 GBP), which uses a clear-black body decorated with an original Athrun-themed logo.

A carabiner is attached to the bottle so it can be clipped onto a bag, with Bandai positioning it for everyday use as well as activities such as hiking, camping, and other outdoor sports.
The capsule arrives during a particularly active period for STRICT-G, which has also just launched its first “STRICT-G JAPAN Gunpla Box Art T-Shirt” collection featuring the original Gundam, Char’s Zaku II, Dijeh, Hyaku Shiki, ν Gundam and Sazabi recreated through Japanese brush-style artwork.

Fans based in the US may soon be able to order the collection through Premium Bandai US, as pre-orders for most STRICT-G releases tend to open there in the weeks following the initial Japanese announcement.
