Official BLEACH: TYBW Scales and Pedometers Encourage Fans to Stay in Fighting Shape
Tanita has unveiled a new collaboration with BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, combining the anime’s iconic Soul Reapers with a voice-guided body composition monitor and an extensive lineup of character-themed pedometers.
Created by Tite Kubo, BLEACH is one of the most successful manga and anime franchises of all time, with more than 130 million copies of the manga in circulation worldwide and a story following Ichigo Kurosaki after he inherits the powers of a Soul Reaper and becomes caught in the conflicts surrounding the Soul Society.
BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War serves as the long-awaited final anime arc, continuing the story with an updated visual style following the original television series that aired between 2004 and 2012 and its four theatrical films, while the final cour, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, is scheduled to premiere on July 25.
The new collaboration with Tanita, who has previously released similar health focused products based on Persona 5 and Hatsune Miku, has been created to celebrate the upcoming broadcast of the anime’s final cour while encouraging fans to make healthy habits part of their daily routine alongside their favorite characters.
Leading the collection is the “BLEACH Model BC-204L Voice Body Composition Monitor,” priced at ¥24,750 (approx. $168 USD / £123 GBP), which features voice guidance from Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai and Toshiro Hitsugaya throughout the setup process and during each measurement.
After every measurement, the device plays original character dialogue based on the user’s results, with different messages triggered depending on body fat percentage and muscle mass so that each character reacts according to their own personality.
For example, users receiving a below-average body fat reading may hear Ichigo joking that they might even be stronger than Rukia, while Rukia immediately protests that she trains far too hard for that to be true.
Likewise, users recording a high muscle mass result can receive encouraging comments from Toshiro Hitsugaya praising their strength or Renji Abarai telling them he would gladly trust them to have his back.
The monitor also rewards consistency by unlocking additional voice lines for measuring three consecutive days, then one week, two weeks and beyond, giving users extra motivation to keep building healthy routines.
For the first time in a Tanita voice body composition monitor, wireless connectivity has also been added, allowing measurement data to be automatically transferred to the TANITA Record and HealthPlanet smartphone apps where users can review their progress through charts and detailed graphs.
The monitor itself features artwork of Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai and Toshiro Hitsugaya against a predominantly black design accented with the BLEACH logo and sharp intersecting lines inspired by the anime’s visual style.
Joining the monitor is the “FB-741 BLEACH Model 3D Sensor Pedometer” collection, priced at ¥3,520 each (approx. $24 USD / £18 GBP), which includes 27 different character designs based on fan-favorite members of the series.
Each pedometer uses colors inspired by its featured character while the background incorporates dynamic slash effects based on the intense sword battles seen throughout the anime, giving every version its own distinct identity.
Built with a three-axis sensor, the pedometer accurately tracks steps whether it is worn around the neck using the included strap or carried inside a pocket or bag, making it easy for fans to take their favorite character with them throughout the day while monitoring their activity.
Reservations for both the “BLEACH Model BC-204L Voice Body Composition Monitor” and the “FB-741 BLEACH Model 3D Sensor Pedometers” are available exclusively through the Tanita Online Shop until August 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM JST.
Orders are scheduled to begin shipping from late November 2026.
