Shueisha kicks off new manga board game brand with Gintama and Reborn! games

Shueisha Games, the game publishing arm of the manga giant Shueisha, has announced a new brand of physical board games called “Manga Board Games.”
The new brand’s concept is to create experiences that make reading manga even more enjoyable, and it is launching with two new titles based on iconic Weekly Shōnen Jump series.
The first new game is Gintama: Who’s the Shogun?.

This is a party game based on the sci-fi samurai comedy series by Hideaki Sorachi, themed around an “Ōgiri,” or comedy improv, competition.
In the game, players must use cards that feature 108 different “funny faces” from the manga to answer a specific prompt, such as “What’s a ‘five seconds before you really have to pee’ face?”.

However, one player is secretly designated as the “Shogun” and does not know the prompt, and the other players must try to deduce who the clueless Shogun is based on the card they play.

The second new game is Reborn! THE 100 DILEMMAS.

This is a cooperative party game based on the hit mafia action series by Akira Amano.
In this game, players are presented with a difficult, two-choice dilemma question related to the series’ characters, such as “What would you regret more on your deathbed: not being able to confess your love, or not being able to save a friend?”.

The players must then try to all choose the same answer to prove the strength of their “family’s” bond.
The game features 100 different question cards, each with an original color illustration from the manga, and the box art for the game is a new, original illustration by the series’ creator, Akira Amano.

Both of the new “Manga Board Games” titles are priced at ¥4,400 and are scheduled to be released on Saturday, the 20th of December, 2025.
