Sanrio unveils new tropical island inspired merch collection
Sanrio is set to transport fans to an eternal summer with a new tropical island inspired merch collection.
The new “Tokonatsu Vacation Design Series” captures the essence of a never-ending summer, featuring popular Sanrio characters sporting delightful tans and adorned with festive hibiscus flowers, all designed to evoke a relaxed, sun-kissed aesthetic.
Sanrio frequently releases themed collections throughout the year, allowing fans to celebrate seasons and events with their favorite characters, and this summer series is a perfect example of that tradition.
This new collection joins Sanrio’s other summer themed offerings, with a recently released collection featuring fan favorite characters making a splash at a night pool party.
The extensive “Tokonatsu Vacation” lineup includes a variety of merchandise appealing to Sanrio fans of all ages:
- 1 – Mascot Holders (6 types): ¥2,497 each, showcasing tanned characters with hibiscus accents, perfect for attaching to bags or keys.
- 2 – Hello Kitty Plush (2 types): ¥3,300 each, soft plush toys of tanned Hello Kitty wearing hibiscus, ideal for collectors.
- 3 – Sticker Set: ¥550, holographic stickers suitable for personalizing PCs, luggage, or phone cases.
- 4 – Tote Bag: ¥2,497, a generously sized bag featuring a convenient D-ring for attaching mascots, ideal for beach trips or poolside relaxation.
- 5 – Bath Towel: ¥3,300, a large and charming towel perfect for summer use.
- 6 – Pouches (4 types): ¥1,595 each, designed with hibiscus zipper charms and sized to hold essentials like sunscreen or face powder.
- 7 – Mirror Mascot Charms (4 types): ¥1,980 each, with a practical mirror on the back and elegant beaded decorations.
- 8 – Hair Clips (4 types): ¥990 each, two-piece sets adorned with glitter and rhinestones, crafted to be gentle on hair and prevent marks.
- 9 – Secret Mascots (8 types): ¥990 each, mystery summer-themed tanned characters embellished with rhinestones, adding an element of surprise for collectors.
- 10 – Secret Straps (8 types): ¥946 each, bead straps with summer-themed beach sandal mascots, also sold as surprise items.
The collection rolls out with a staggered release schedule: beginning on August 5th the collection will be available at the Sanrio NISHIGINZA store, followed by a wider release on August 6th at Sanrio directly managed stores, department store Sanrio corners, and the Sanrio Online Shop.
Select stores in Kyushu prefectures, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, and Okinawa will see the release on August 7th.
