Uma Musume: Pretty Derby has unveiled a glamorous new horse girl inspired by Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe, introducing a character whose vintage movie-star appearance and acting career have already attracted considerable attention from fans.
The newly revealed Win Marilyn will be voiced by Chinatsu Hirose, with Cygames showcasing her official character artwork and elaborate racing outfit for the first time during its latest Paka Live TV broadcast.

Originally launched in Japan in 2021, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a hugely popular multimedia franchise that reimagines real-world racehorses as young women who train and compete at the prestigious Tracen Academy, pursuing victory in major races while developing their own friendships, rivalries and ambitions.

The franchise has subsequently expanded through multiple television anime adaptations, manga, music and merchandise, with its internationally released mobile game allowing players to train their favorite horse girls and guide them through their racing careers.

Win Marilyn’s introduction sees Cygames embrace the glamour of classic Hollywood, with her official biography describing her as the daughter of a celebrated actor who has appeared in television dramas and movies since childhood.

Having grown up in the entertainment industry, she possesses exceptional communication skills and a talent for presenting herself to others, maintaining an elegant and graceful public image as an aspiring star of the silver screen.
Her background and appearance draw clear comparisons to Marilyn Monroe, the legendary American actress whose blonde curls, glamorous dresses and movie-star persona became enduring symbols of Hollywood during the 1950s.

The resemblance is particularly striking in Win Marilyn’s newly revealed racing outfit, which features a theatrical red-and-black dress with elaborate lace detailing, long white gloves and decorative jewelry.

Her short, wavy blonde hair and vintage-inspired accessories complete the look, giving her an appearance more closely associated with a classic movie premiere than the racetrack.
Cygames has also released an illustration of Win Marilyn wearing the standard purple-and-white Tracen Academy uniform, offering a closer look at her everyday appearance alongside the more extravagant outfit she wears when competing.

Despite her refined personality, Win Marilyn’s acting career has included some rather unusual roles, with her biggest success reportedly coming from portraying a delinquent schoolgirl who defeats her enemies through racing.
Her official character profile even describes her ambition to deliver races worthy of being called exceptional cinema, reinforcing the idea that she approaches competition as another opportunity to demonstrate her performing talents.

The Hollywood-inspired background also contains a clever connection to the real-world racehorse on which Win Marilyn is based, whose father was the successful Japanese thoroughbred Screen Hero.

By portraying Win Marilyn as the daughter of a famous actor, Cygames gives the racing champion’s pedigree a theatrical interpretation that fits naturally with her movie-star persona.
The real Win Marilyn was born in Japan on May 23, 2017, and competed professionally between 2019 and 2023, recording six victories from 22 starts and establishing herself as one of the country’s leading female racehorses.

Her early successes included winning the Flora Stakes in 2020, followed by the Nikkei Sho and Sankei Sho All Comers in 2021, before achieving the biggest victory of her career on the international stage.

In December 2022, Win Marilyn claimed her first Group 1 title in the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin Racecourse, with jockey Damian Lane guiding her to a decisive victory over an international field in the prestigious 2,400-meter competition.

She also developed rivalries with several horses already represented in Uma Musume, including Daring Tact, who defeated Win Marilyn in the 2020 Japanese Oaks, and Curren Bouquetd’or, another successful competitor from the same generation.
Win Marilyn eventually retired following the 2023 Arima Kinen, ending her racing career before beginning a new role as a broodmare.

Her introduction continues Cygames’ expansion of the Uma Musume roster with characters based on modern Japanese racing champions, including the previously revealed Titleholder, whose real-world achievements included victories in the Kikuka Sho, Tenno Sho (Spring) and Takarazuka Kinen.

The franchise has also introduced internationally successful competitors such as Red Desire, whose racing career included major appearances in Japan, Dubai and the United States.

Win Marilyn was officially announced during the October 24, 2026, broadcast of Paka Live TV #8, which also introduced a new Tracen Academy character named Azuma, voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi, as part of an upcoming training scenario.
Cygames has already published Win Marilyn’s official character profile, including her newly revealed illustrations and background information, although a date for her playable debut in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby has not yet been announced.
