Ninja-Kid II Launches for Console Archives on March 19

The retro gaming specialist Hamster Corporation has officially announced that Ninja-Kid II is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on March 19, 2026.

This classic title will be available for digital purchase at a price point of $7.99 or 800 yen as part of the ongoing Console Archives digital initiative.

Originally developed and released by UPL in 1988 for 8-bit home systems, this sequel expands on the foundations of its predecessor with more complex level designs and mechanics.

Players control a nimble protagonist who must navigate through a variety of environmental stages including treacherous mountains, vast oceans, and dark caves.

The primary objective of the journey is to track down and defeat the powerful antagonist known as Ashura in a series of challenging encounters.

While the game features a charming and colorful art style, it is known for providing a high level of difficulty through its hardcore ninja action and wall-kicking maneuvers.

Combat variety is a central feature of the experience, offering players a wide selection of different weapons to utilize against waves of enemies.

As part of the Console Archives collection, this version focuses on providing a faithful reproduction of the original masterpiece for modern hardware audiences.

The digital release includes several modern quality-of-life improvements such as fully customizable button layouts and adjustable screen settings to suit personal preferences.

Users will also benefit from the addition of save and load states, allowing for progress to be recorded at any specific moment during gameplay.

The software supports a broad range of international audiences with menus and manuals localized in Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
