JRPG Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass Console Release to Include New Content

Publisher Electric Airship and developer Starseed Games have announced the upcoming console release of their unique Japanese-style RPG, “Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass”.
The game first captivated PC players when it launched via Steam, and the upcoming console edition is poised to deliver a significantly enhanced experience.

The game’s upcoming release on home consoles will feature substantial new content, including never-before-seen levels, enhanced visuals, and a new selectable font.
Additionally, players will find a classic aesthetic CRT filter, an expert difficulty mode for veterans, and a host of new enemies to encounter in the dream world.

“Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass” draws its core inspiration from the golden age of JRPGs, taking clear influence from Super Nintendo Entertainment System-era classics such as “Earthbound”, “Final Fantasy V”, and the “Breath of Fire” series.
It also incorporates the abstract, surreal horror elements found in titles like “Yume Nikki”.

Set entirely within the dream of an eight-year-old boy, the story follows Jimmy as he embarks on an adventure to save his family and the stability of the dream world from a menacing alien entity known only as the Pulsating Mass.
Along the way, Jimmy must confront the creeping nightmares of his own subconscious and his personal shortcomings.

The full-length RPG features classic turn-based combat with modern sensibilities, placing a heavy emphasis on exploration.
Jimmy’s most unique ability is his empathetic nature, which allows him to imagine himself as several of the monsters he meets.

These different transformations are key to progression, granting him new abilities and higher stats as they are leveled up, enabling him to interact with the world in novel ways.
The game’s narrative features a distinct blend of tones as it is described as a story for adults delivered from the perspective of a child, balancing dark, unspeakable horrors with moments of levity and jokes.

The title will launch across all major home console platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 5, 2026.
