Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 Premieres January 2027

The official website and social media accounts for the hit series Shangri-La Frontier announced on March 19, 2026, that the anime’s third season is scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2027.
To accompany the release window announcement, a new teaser visual was released featuring the characters Rakuro and Sunraku alongside a mysterious third individual whose identity remains unknown.

The production remains at studio C2C with Hiro Oki returning to direct the third season, while Toshiyuki Kubooka, the director of the first two seasons, will now serve as the chief director.
Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is back to handle the series composition, and Ayumi Kurashima returns as the character designer and chief animation director.
The musical score for the upcoming season will be composed by MONACA, continuing the soundscape established in previous entries.
The extensive animation staff includes assistant director Naoki Kotani, sub character designer Riku Takizawa, and monster designers Yoshihiro Nagamori, Hiroshi Arisawa, and Naoya Sonoda.
Action sequences will be overseen by action effect director Satoshi Sakai and a team of action animation directors, including Takeshi Nishino, Kazunori Ozawa, Rino Isago, and Mizuki Watanabe.
Other key staff members include art director Chiho Wada, color designers Masato Takagi and Sakiko Tekuramori, and sound director Akiko Fujita.
The series follows Rakuro Hizutome, a specialist in clearing buggy and low-quality VR games, who decides to tackle the immensely popular god-tier game known as Shangri-La Frontier.
While the new season continues the story from the second season, fans can currently stream previous episodes of Shangri-La Frontier on Crunchyroll.
