Converse and Sanrio Launch New Limited-Edition My Melody and Kuromi Collab Collection
Image by Charlotte DavisConverse has launched a huge new Hello Kitty and Friends collection that stars My Melody and Kuromi across a wide selection of limited-edition sneakers, clothing and customizable designs.
The collaboration spans adult, kids and toddler footwear alongside a reversible hoodie, T-shirts and Converse By You options, combining the contrasting pink and black styling associated with the two Sanrio characters across several classic Converse silhouettes.
My Melody debuted in 1975 and is known for her gentle personality and signature hood, while Kuromi was introduced in 2005 as her self-proclaimed rival with a black jester hood, pink skull, and more mischievous personality.

The pair have increasingly appeared together across Sanrio merchandise and collaborations, with their contrasting styles providing the basis for coordinated designs that range from pastel pink to black and purple.

Converse carries that pairing throughout the new collection through character graphics, ruffled accents, lace charms, studs, and co-branded versions of its familiar Chuck Taylor details.
