Converse Reveals New Sanrio Sneaker Collection Starring Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Pompompurin

Converse has revealed a new Sanrio collaboration starring Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Pompompurin, transforming its updated All Star sneaker with character-inspired colors, patterns and details throughout each design.

The collection brings together three of Sanrio’s biggest characters, with Pompompurin receiving particular attention during a milestone year that marks the Golden Retriever’s 30th anniversary.

Pompompurin also claimed first place in the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking, adding another reason for the longtime fan favorite to headline the collaboration alongside Hello Kitty and Kuromi.

Each sneaker uses the new-specification version of the Converse All Star as its base, while custom character graphics extend from the uppers to smaller details including heel labels, ankle patches and interior linings.

Converse has even created special packaging for the collection, with the sneakers presented inside an original carton designed to resemble a gift box decorated with Hello Kitty’s signature bow.

The ALL STAR HI / POMPOMPURIN, priced at ¥13,200 (approx. $83 USD / £61 GBP), covers its high-top canvas upper in a soft yellow gingham pattern inspired by Pompompurin’s relaxed personality, with his ears and brown beret incorporated into the ankle patch and heel details.

An embroidered recreation of Pompompurin’s rear appears on the heel strip, while his face is printed inside the lining to continue the character theme beyond the exterior.

The ALL STAR OX / KUROMI, also priced at ¥13,200 (approx. $83 USD / £61 GBP), uses a low-top design built around Kuromi’s black-and-purple styling, with her face appearing on the tongue and heel labels.

Her familiar skull emblem is embroidered on the outer side of the shoe, while additional Kuromi artwork appears across the lining to complete the darker design.

The ALL STAR OX / HELLO KITTY, priced at ¥13,200 (approx. $83 USD / £61 GBP), takes a monochrome approach with an all-over pattern of Hello Kitty faces covering the upper.

Matching character artwork appears on the heel label and lining, while a satin ribbon running along the heel adds a softer reference to the bow that has been part of Hello Kitty’s look for decades.

All three Sanrio x Converse sneakers will be available through the Converse Official Online Shop and participating Converse retailers in Japan from August 21, 2026.
