Sanrio Reveals Huge New Fashion-Focused Kuromi Merch Collection
Sanrio is giving Kuromi three different fashion makeovers for a huge new official collection built around Gothic, Girly and Casual interpretations of her signature style.
The new “All Black Kuromi Mode Series” carries those three fashion themes across plushies, accessories, bags, beauty items and stationery, using black as the dominant color alongside gray and purple accents.
Kuromi debuted in 2005 as My Melody’s mischievous rival and has since become one of Sanrio’s most popular characters, with her black jester hood, pink skull and combination of rebellious and girly personality traits making her particularly well suited to alternative fashion themes.
That darker side has already inspired several fashion-focused releases during 2026, including a DearMyLove collection built around jirai-kei clothing that paired Kuromi with heavily decorated black outfits, lace and ribbons.
Her upcoming October 31 birthday has also inspired a separate “Kuromi’s ♡ Birthday Party ♡” collection from FuRyu, which instead gives Kuromi and My Melody elaborate idol-style outfits across plushies and accessories.
For the new “All Black Kuromi Mode Series,” Sanrio returns the focus entirely to Kuromi and divides her wardrobe between Gothic, Girly and Casual looks, with several products allowing fans to choose their preferred version of the character.

A large Kuromi plush dressed in an elaborate Gothic-style black outfit covered with frills, ribbons and layered decorative details.
- Mascot Holder – ¥2,596 each (approximately $17 / £12)
Three Kuromi mascot designs wearing separate Gothic, Girly and Casual outfits, giving each of the collection’s main fashion themes its own compact plush version.
- Mini Bag Charm – ¥1,650 each (approximately $11 / £8)
Three miniature bag-shaped pouch charms designed around the Gothic, Girly and Casual themes, with enough internal space for small items such as lipstick, candy or earbuds.
- Tote Bag – ¥2,596 (approximately $17 / £12)
An A4-compatible black tote featuring Kuromi artwork from the collection alongside a D-ring that can be used to attach mascot holders, straps and other accessories.
- Strap – ¥1,397 each (approximately $9 / £7)
Three straps matching Kuromi’s different fashion modes, each combining ribbons and beads with details inspired by its respective Gothic, Girly or Casual design.
- Nail Tips – ¥1,496 (approximately $10 / £7)
A 24-piece set of press-on nail tips decorated with Kuromi face-shaped raised parts, heart-shaped stones and dark-toned motifs, accompanied by a nail file, wooden removal stick and adhesive tabs.
- Bangs Clips – ¥1,298 (approximately $8 / £6)
A three-piece hair clip set featuring different Kuromi expressions and semi-three-dimensional character decorations designed to hold bangs away from the face without leaving noticeable marks.
- Petit Towel – ¥880 (approximately $6 / £4)
A jacquard-style mini towel finished with embroidered Kuromi appliqué artwork.
- Binder – ¥2,794 (approximately $18 / £13)
A card binder decorated with Kuromi ears and embroidered-style patches, containing three original cards and two-tier transparent pockets for storing trading cards and instant photos.

Three sets combining a larger sticker decorated with a heart-shaped stone and smaller stickers featuring different Kuromi expressions, sized for decorating phones, notebooks and laptops.

The “All Black Kuromi Mode Series” will launch through Sanrio stores, participating department-store Sanrio corners and the official Sanrio Online Shop in Japan from October 8, 2026.
