Japan’s New Milkshake Invites You To Enjoy The Taste of “Coo-Che” This Summer

Premium Japanese confectionery brand Yoku Moku has unveiled a new dessert called “COO-CHE,” raising eyebrows amongst English speakers due to its similarity when spoken to a common slang term.

Despite the attention its name may attract, COO-CHE has been created as a playful dessert experience that combines cookies and milkshakes into a single interactive offering.

Designed as a chilled confection, the dessert presents a new way to enjoy flavors inspired by Yoku Moku’s signature baked goods.

COO-CHE consists of a specially prepared rolled langue de chat cookie filled with an original vanilla shake and accompanied by whipped cream and crunchy crumble cookie pieces.

Rather than being consumed in a conventional way, the dessert encourages customers to interact with its ingredients by mixing, breaking, and tasting the various components.

When the cup is squeezed, the rolled cookie cracks apart within the shake, blending crisp cookie textures with the smooth vanilla beverage.

The vanilla flavor used throughout the dessert comes from the same proprietary Yoku Moku vanilla recipe featured in the company’s famous Cigare cookies.

According to Yoku Moku, COO-CHE was developed as a fresh interpretation of the flavors and qualities that have long defined its signature rolled cookie products.

The company wanted to offer customers a different way to experience the familiar taste of its langue de chat creations while maintaining the distinctive identity associated with the brand.

To reinforce that connection, the dessert incorporates handmade cookie elements created specifically for COO-CHE while retaining visual cues reminiscent of the classic Cigare cookie.

As customers stir together the shake, crumble pieces, and whipped cream or break apart the cookie shell, the texture and flavor profile gradually evolve throughout the experience.

Yoku Moku describes the concept as a dessert that combines enjoyment, discovery, and changing textures while still delivering the satisfaction expected from a traditional sweet treat.

To mark the introduction of COO-CHE, a special seasonal display will transform the store environment with a theme centered on a refreshing and enjoyable summer experience.

The temporary decorations draw inspiration from overseas cafés and dessert parlors, creating an atmosphere intended to make visitors feel as though they have stepped into a resort destination.

The installation will also feature oversized COO-CHE displays and dedicated photo opportunities designed to encourage visitors to engage with the new dessert concept.

COO-CHE will be priced at 780 yen (approx. $5 USD/ £4 GBP) per serving when it launches on June 19, 2026, exclusively at the Yoku Moku Tokyo Station Ichibangai store.
