Godzilla and Lacoste Reunite for New Limited-Edition Minus Zero Collab Collection
Image by James RichardsonGodzilla Minus Zero is teaming up with French fashion brand Lacoste for a special new clothing collection, with director Takashi Yamazaki personally creating exclusive artwork inspired by his upcoming sequel to the Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One.
The limited-edition “LACOSTE/GODZILLA-0.0” collection is the third collaboration between the two brands and introduces an entirely new set of designs that celebrate the return of Japan’s King of the Monsters to cinemas.

Originally introduced in Toho’s 1954 classic, Godzilla has become one of the most enduring figures in Japanese cinema, appearing in dozens of films, television productions, games and other media over more than seven decades.
The franchise experienced another major international success with 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, which followed a devastated postwar Japan as its survivors confronted a terrifying new Godzilla threat.

Directed, written, and supervised for visual effects by Yamazaki, the film received widespread critical acclaim and made history by becoming the first Japanese production to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
Toho officially announced its sequel, Godzilla Minus Zero during Godzilla Fes 2025, with Yamazaki returning to direct another story set two years after the original film.

Taking place in 1949, the movie follows a recovering Japan as the country faces another devastating threat after finally beginning to rebuild from Godzilla’s previous attack.
Lacoste’s latest collaboration celebrates the upcoming theatrical release by incorporating artwork created specifically by Yamazaki, who has illustrated Godzilla confronting the brand’s famous crocodile emblem in a series of detailed black-and-white sketches.

The collection also introduces a specially designed logo that transforms the Lacoste name into the dramatic brushstroke style used for the movie’s title, giving the familiar French fashion brand a distinctly Godzilla-inspired appearance.
Lacoste’s first official Godzilla collaboration was announced in September 2025 and continued with a second collection featuring new Godzilla, Mechagodzilla and other kaiju-inspired designs earlier this year.

Those previous releases incorporated playful variations of Lacoste’s signature crocodile logo, with the latest collection instead focusing on the director’s own interpretation of the two reptilian icons.

Five limited-edition items make up the new range, consisting of four T-shirts and a matching cap:
- White Godzilla Illustration T-Shirt – ¥16,500 (approximately $105 / £79)

Features an oversized black-and-white illustration showing Godzilla facing Lacoste’s crocodile, with the artwork extending across much of the front and wrapping towards the lower edge of the shirt.
- White Vertical Artwork T-Shirt – ¥16,500 (approximately $105 / £79)

A second white design places the two creatures in a dramatic vertical composition, with Godzilla appearing above the crocodile as the illustration stretches down the center of the garment.
- Black Godzilla Illustration T-Shirt – ¥16,500 (approximately $105 / £79)

Uses a smaller, horizontally arranged version of Yamazaki’s artwork, presenting the confrontation between Godzilla and the crocodile in white against the black fabric.
- Black Movie Logo T-Shirt – ¥16,500 (approximately $105 / £79)

Features the specially created Godzilla Minus Zero collaboration logo across the chest, pairing the film’s stylized title mark with a redesigned Lacoste wordmark beneath it.
- Black Collaboration Cap – ¥14,300 (approximately $91 / £68)

The new collection will be released just ahead of Godzilla Minus Zero’s theatrical debut, which takes place in Japan on November 3, 2026, before opening in cinemas across the United States and United Kingdom on November 6.

“LACOSTE/GODZILLA-0.0” officially launches in Japan on November 1, 2026, through selected Lacoste stores and the official Lacoste Japan online store, with availability in selected European markets scheduled to follow on November 4.
Participating Japanese locations include Lacoste stores in Harajuku, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Hibiya and Osaka, alongside selected department stores and airport shops.

Due to the limited quantities available, most physical stores will use a same-day lottery system to determine the order in which customers can enter and purchase merchandise, rather than operating on a first-come, first-served basis.
Customers shopping in person must download the Lacoste app and register for a free Team Lacoste membership beforehand, although the Haneda Airport pop-up store and Fukuoka Airport store are currently scheduled to operate without the lottery system.
Online sales are scheduled to begin at 10 AM JST on November 1, with purchases limited to one of each design and a maximum of five items per customer, while additional information about individual store entry procedures is available through Lacoste’s official collection sales guide.
