Exclusive Hello Kitty and Pompompurin Drinks Join the McDonald’s Japan Spring Menu

McDonald’s Japan has announced a new collaboration between its McCafé brand and popular Sanrio characters Hello Kitty and Pompompurin.
The new Hello Kitty’s Juicy Strawberry Smoothie and Pompompurin’s Creamy Pudding Frappe will bring special character designs to the fast-food chain’s beverage lineup.

These upcoming spring menu additions represent the first time the McCafé brand has partnered directly with character properties for its beverage line.
Sanrio is recognized worldwide for creating comforting and iconic mascots that appeal to consumers of all ages.

Fans of Hello Kitty and Pompompurin can look forward to enjoying their drinks in specially designed limited-edition cups featuring two of the most popular mascots.

The exclusive packaging features adorable artwork of both characters happily drinking their respective sweet treats:
- Hello Kitty’s Juicy Strawberry Smoothie
- Price: 450 yen (approx. $3.00 USD / £2.35 GBP)

This option delivers a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness that resembles the satisfying taste of rich strawberry gelato.

It will be available as a Value Set upgrade for an additional 200 yen (approx. $1.30 USD / £1.00 GBP)
- Pompompurin’s Creamy Pudding Frappe
- Price: 450 yen (approx. $3.00 USD / £2.35 GBP)

This custard beverage combines caramel sauce with smooth whipped cream to recreate the experience of eating a traditional Japanese pudding.

It will be available as a Value Set upgrade for an additional 200 yen (approx. $1.30 USD / £1.00 GBP)
To help promote the launch of the drinks, a brand-new television commercial starring popular singer Ano will begin broadcasting on Friday, April 10.

The energetic thirty-second advertisement showcases the artist dancing alongside the beloved mascots in a magical forest setting.
During the clip, Ano performs a lively parody of the famous Heisei-era hit song “One Night Carnival” originally by the rock band Kishidan.

Both of the new Sanrio McCafé drinks are scheduled to launch on Friday, April 10.
They will be available for a limited time at participating McCafé locations nationwide, excluding the Roppongi Hills branch in Tokyo.

Fans looking to celebrate early can participate in an official social media giveaway currently taking place on X today, April 2.
By following the official McDonald’s Japan account and replying to the designated promotional post, users can enter to win a 1,000 yen gift card.

A second identical social media campaign is also planned to run across Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10.
McDonald’s has also confirmed that this initial crossover will be followed by further collaborative projects with Sanrio in the very near future.
