Bandai Unveils Exclusive New RG Gunpla Kit for The Gundam Base’s Latest Store

Bandai has officially revealed a new Real Grade Gunpla kit created exclusively for one of its newest permanent Gundam Base locations.

The newly announced “RG 1/144 THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED RX-0 Unicorn Gundam [Psycho-Frame Resonance Ver.]” will be exclusive to The Gundam Base Sydney and is based on the transforming RG Unicorn Gundam originally released in 2017.

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn follows Banagher Links after he becomes the pilot of the RX-0, an experimental Mobile Suit built around a full-body Psycho-Frame and equipped with the NT-D System.

Its Psycho-Frame responds directly to Newtype phenomena throughout the story, producing several visually different states as Banagher’s connection with the machine develops.

The new kit recreates the pale pink state seen during Banagher’s confrontation with Loni Garvey and the enormous amphibious Mobile Armor Shamblo in Mobile Suit Gundam UC RE:0096 episode 12.

Its newly revealed box artwork places the pink-tinted Unicorn Gundam directly alongside the Shamblo, tying the release to the Psycho-Frame resonance that occurs during their encounter.

The normally white armor has been changed to a light pink finish with a pearlescent sheen, allowing the entire Mobile Suit to reflect the glow surrounding the Unicorn during the scene rather than limiting the effect to its exposed Psycho-Frame.

Underneath that new finish is the original 2017 Real Grade Unicorn Gundam, which uses an Advanced MS Framework and can fully transform between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode at 1/144 scale.

As is typical for recolored Gundam Base variants built from an existing kit, the Psycho-Frame Resonance version is expected to retain the original RG Unicorn Gundam’s accessory lineup, including its Beam Magnum and shield.

Bandai sometimes gives those reused weapons and accessories revised finishes to better complement a new color scheme, though the complete contents and final treatment of this version are still to be shown.

The kit will become one of the exclusives associated with Australia’s first permanent Gundam Base at Broadway Sydney, which is opening alongside a new Tamashii Nations Store.

Sydney will become the third new permanent Gundam Base to open within less than a month, following Minneapolis in the US and Shibuya in Japan, with exclusive and limited Gunpla forming an important part of the new store’s lineup.

The RX-0 has already received several special Gunpla releases during 2026, including a huge 1/48 Gundam Base Limited kit commemorating the final days of Tokyo’s life-size Unicorn Gundam statue.

The wider Real Grade range has also continued actively releasing Unicorn-related kits, with the gold-plated RG 1/144 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex (Narrative Ver.) recently confirmed for another US release through Premium Bandai US.

The “RG 1/144 THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED RX-0 Unicorn Gundam [Psycho-Frame Resonance Ver.]” has been announced as a Gundam Base Sydney exclusive, with its price and exact release date still to be confirmed.

The Gundam Base Sydney itself will officially open at Broadway Sydney on November 26, 2026, with further details about the new Unicorn Gundam kit expected to be announced ahead of or around the store’s launch.
