Bandai Officially Opens Orders for Life-Size Unicorn Gundam Statue’s New Commemorative Gunpla Kit
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has officially opened pre-orders for a huge new 1/48 scale Unicorn Gundam Gunpla kit commemorating the final days of Tokyo’s life-size RX-0 statue, recreating its specially decorated Ver. TWC FINAL appearance for collectors.
The “Mega Size Model 1/48 Gundam Base Limited RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL,” priced at ¥14,300 (approx. $90 USD / £66 GBP), takes the familiar Mega Size Model and adds the special farewell decorations designed by mechanical designer Hajime Katoki for the Odaiba landmark.
The real RX-0 Unicorn Gundam has stood outside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza since September 2017, replacing the original life-size RX-78-2 Gundam and becoming one of the most recognizable Gundam attractions in Japan.
Its nearly nine-year run officially came to an end on August 31, 2026, with the statue displaying Katoki’s Ver. TWC FINAL markings as part of the celebrations surrounding its departure.
The new Gunpla provides a permanent recreation of that final presentation in the enormous 1/48 Mega Size format, making the special decoration applied to the statue itself the defining feature of the release.
Also releasing alongside the new kit are five commemorative items from the official Gundam fashion brand STRICT-G, built around photography of the statue, its Ver. TWC FINAL appearance and imagery from Mobile Suit Gundam UC:

“Bancolle!” is adding another three pieces using graphics based on the special Ver. TWC FINAL markings currently decorating the full-size RX-0.

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL Sticker, priced at ¥440 (approx. $3 USD / £2 GBP), provides another souvenir carrying the farewell design.
Both the Mega Size Model 1/48 Gundam Base Limited RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL and the STRICT-G commemorative items are now available to pre-order through Premium Bandai Japan, with the separate “Bancolle!” range now on sale at Gundam Base Tokyo and Gundam Base Tokyo Annex.
Shipping for the Mega Size Model 1/48 Gundam Base Limited RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL is scheduled for March 2027 and the kit will also go on general sale at Gundam Base Tokyo once online orders begin shipping.
As yet, Bandai are yet to confirm international availability through their official channels such as Premium Bandai US, though it is possible that pre-orders for US fans may open shortly.
