Eternal Boys Anime Gets Live-Action Drama and Stage Play Adaptations

The original Liden Films produced TV anime Eternal Boys will expand its reach with both a live action TV drama and a stage play adaptation set for 2026.

The production team confirmed that the same cast members will portray the characters across both the television and theatrical versions.

A new official website and X account for the project launched with a teaser visual showcasing the six primary cast members who portray the middle aged idol group.

The television drama is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 4, 2026, and consists of 15 minute episodes.

The stage play adaptation is scheduled for 17 performances at the Yurakucho I’M A SHOW theater in Tokyo from December 3, 2026, to December 13, 2026.

The live action cast features Gaku Matsumoto as Kentaro Sanada, Kohei Nakatsuka as Daisuke Yamanaka, Soichiro Sorihashi as Yu Asai, and Ryu Kiyama as Tsuyoshi Imagawa.

Rounding out the cast are Yudai Suzuki as Naoki Ishida, Kei Hosogai as Makoto Kakizaki, Arien Kohatsu as Nikolai Asakura, Akira Saito as Fukutaro Manda, and Minako Tanaka as Fukuko Manda.

This expansion follows the original 24 episode anime series that aired from October 2022 to March 2023 and the sequel film Eternal Boys NEXT STAGE released in June 2023.

The anime series was directed by Migmi with series composition by Kimiko Ueno and character designs by Seiko Asai.

The story follows six middle aged men who push the limits of their age and ability to train and debut as the next idol sensations known as the Eternal Boys.

Fans can currently stream the original TV anime and the NEXT STAGE film on the HIDIVE platform.
