Hatsune Miku’s Hokusai Collab Finally Adds All the Piapro Characters

The official “Hokusai x Hatsune Miku” collaboration is returning for a third time, introducing an all-new collection of merchandise that expands beyond Hatsune Miku to feature the wider Piapro Characters lineup for the very first time.
Hatsune Miku has become one of the world’s most recognizable virtual singers since her debut in 2007, inspiring music, live concerts, games, anime collaborations and merchandise worldwide alongside fellow Vocaloids Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO.

Following the original collaboration in 2025 and a successful second wave released in March 2026, the latest project continues the partnership between legendary ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai and modern Vocaloid culture through a fresh collection of artwork illustrated by acclaimed artist Rella.

The collaboration combines Hokusai’s timeless woodblock print style with contemporary character designs, reimagining the Piapro Characters within artwork inspired by the famous artist’s powerful waves, seasonal scenery and traditional Japanese aesthetics.

Rella, whose detailed illustrations have appeared across numerous official Hatsune Miku events and anniversary projects, returns once again to create the new artwork, digitally recreating the appearance of traditional woodblock printing while incorporating design elements inspired by some of Hokusai’s most celebrated masterpieces.

Commenting on the new project, Rella said they were delighted to return following the previous collaboration, explaining that particular attention was given to digitally recreating the texture of traditional ukiyo-e printing while redesigning the official Piapro Characters costumes using motifs inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s artwork.

For the first time in the collaboration’s history, the merchandise lineup now includes dedicated artwork featuring Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO alongside Hatsune Miku, significantly expanding the collection for Vocaloid fans.
