Bandai Reveals First Gunpla Kit from the New Gundam RG XARX Zero Anime
Bandai has officially revealed the first Gunpla kit set to be released from the recently announced Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX Zero anime.
Since debuting in 1979, the Gundam series has become one of Japan’s most influential science fiction franchises, combining large-scale mecha battles with stories centered on war, politics, and the people caught in the middle of conflict.
Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX Zero is the newest entry in the long-running series and was revealed during the “New Gundam Series Animation Announcement” broadcast on July 24.
Although details about the series have yet to be disclosed, it has been confirmed that it is set in the same universe as the upcoming Gundam: Rogue Orbit game and takes place 90 years before the game begins.
Bandai has confirmed that the first Gunpla kit set to be released from the series will be the HG 1/144 Gundam ZERO kit.
The design of the Gundam ZERO was revealed during the livestream.
The Gundam ZERO is set to be piloted by Ray Azumi, who will be voiced by Takeo Otsuka.
Bandai also announced that the Gundam ZERO will feature in several of their other Gundam product lines.
The accessible Gundam Miximize range, which features interchangeable parts and smaller, simpler kits than standard Gunpla products, will feature the Gundam ZERO alongside previously announced kits such as the RX-78-2 Gundam and Freedom Gundam.
It will also be included in both of Bandai’s popular Gundam Universe and Metal Robot Spirits action figure lines.
Bandai is expected to confirm additional information about the story, cast, staff, mobile suit designs, and release schedule of the new series at a later date.
