ONE PIECE Card Game Reveals Baki Creator’s Incredible Kaido Card Ahead of OP-17 Launch
Bandai has unveiled another major surprise for the upcoming ONE PIECE Card Game OP-17: World’s Strongest Warriors booster set, revealing that legendary Baki creator Keisuke Itagaki has illustrated a special Kaido card that is already shaping up to be one of the expansion’s biggest collector highlights.
The ONE PIECE Card Game launched in 2022 and has rapidly grown into one of the world’s most popular trading card games, combining Eiichiro Oda’s iconic pirate adventure with competitive gameplay and highly collectible alternate-art cards that continue to attract both players and collectors.
World’s Strongest Warriors serves as the game’s fourth anniversary expansion and celebrates two of the manga’s biggest themes, the legendary Four Emperors and the land of Elbaf, introducing new cards based on some of the strongest characters in the ONE PIECE universe.
The newly revealed Kaido card immediately stands out thanks to Keisuke Itagaki’s unmistakable art style, reimagining the “World’s Strongest Creature” with the dramatic anatomy, bold linework and overwhelming presence that have defined the Baki series for decades.
While Bandai has yet to reveal how rare the card will ultimately be, its unique artwork is already expected to make it one of the most sought-after pulls from the entire set.
Bandai has also revealed an entirely new Pirate Crew Super Parallel rarity, with Monkey D. Luffy and Rocks D. Xebec, who is making his debut in the game in this set, becoming the first characters to receive the new treatment.
The expansion already contains an impressive lineup of collector-focused cards, including Manga Rare versions of the original Four Emperors Edward Newgate, Shanks, Kaido and Charlotte Linlin.
Collectors can also look forward to striking Special cards featuring the current Four Emperors Monkey D. Luffy, Shanks, Buggy and Marshall D. Teach, each depicted seated upon elaborate golden thrones.
Another new addition is the Conqueror’s Haki SP card series, which uses dramatic black-and-white artwork accented by vivid red lightning to showcase the overwhelming power of Conqueror’s Haki across characters including Roronoa Zoro, Kozuki Oden, Monkey D. Garp, Gol D. Roger, Yamato and Silvers Rayleigh.
The set also introduces the game’s first-ever Super Leader Parallel rarity, a new rarity above traditional Leader Parallel cards that debuts with Monkey D. Luffy as its inaugural release.
Players and collectors will also have the opportunity to obtain two commemorative Worldwide Release DON!! Cards featuring Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro, with both illustrations connecting to form one larger image when displayed together.
World’s Strongest Warriors contains more than 135 card types in total, comprising 131 standard cards alongside four additional special card categories, making it one of the game’s largest anniversary releases to date.
Each booster pack is priced at ¥240 (approx. $2 USD / £1 GBP) in Japan and $4.99 (approx. $5 USD / £4 GBP) in the US.
Pre-release events begin on August 21, 2026, ahead of the synchronized worldwide retail launch on August 28, 2026, with booster packs becoming available through hobby stores, local game stores and participating retailers worldwide.
