Hello Kitty’s Luxurious New Franck Muller Watch Collection Might Be Her Most Expensive Collab Ever
Hello Kitty is receiving one of her most luxurious makeovers yet, with Franck Muller revealing four Swiss-made watches starring the Sanrio icon in a series of retro, traditional and fashion-forward designs.
The newly announced collection, which was previewed during Franck Muller’s World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie in April before receiving its wider official reveal on July 30, 2026, marks Hello Kitty’s first official collaboration with the luxury Swiss watchmaker and places her within the signature “Cintrée Curvex” range.
Hello Kitty made her debut in Japan in 1974 and has since become a global symbol of friendship and kindness, appearing across everything from everyday accessories to high-end fashion and collector releases.
Franck Muller is known for combining traditional Swiss watchmaking with unconventional designs, while the curved, tonneau-shaped Cintrée Curvex case remains one of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes.
The four collaboration models are named Rétro, Kimono, Sakura and Tokyo Rebel, with each using a different version of Hello Kitty to create its own personality while retaining Franck Muller’s oversized Arabic numerals.
The Cintrée Curvex Hello Kitty Rétro places her familiar red bow and classic blue overalls against a polished dial, giving the watch the most nostalgic appearance in the collection.
The Cintrée Curvex Hello Kitty Kimono dresses her in an elaborate red floral kimono with a matching headpiece, drawing directly from traditional Japanese clothing.
The Cintrée Curvex Hello Kitty Sakura surrounds her face with cherry blossoms and replaces the usual silver hour markers with vivid pink numerals that complement the floral theme.
The Cintrée Curvex Hello Kitty Tokyo Rebel takes the collection in a more contemporary direction, showing her dressed in pink overalls and holding a lollipop in a design influenced by Tokyo street style.
Hello Kitty appears around the six o’clock position on each dial, allowing the character artwork to remain prominent without replacing the visual elements associated with Franck Muller’s watches.
Rétro and Kimono use the 1752 QZ format, while Sakura and Tokyo Rebel are presented as larger 7502 QZ D 1R models with a row of diamonds surrounding the case.
The dials combine a sunray guilloché pattern with 25 layers of translucent lacquer, while the detailed Hello Kitty illustrations require a multi-stage printing process using approximately ten separate plates.
Each watch is powered by a quartz movement and combines a hand-polished stainless-steel case with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, 30-meter water resistance and an alligator leather strap selected to match its color scheme.
Franck Muller has not publicly confirmed individual prices or a general release date, with interested buyers currently directed to contact one of the brand’s boutiques or submit a price inquiry through its official website.
