Console Archives Terra Cresta Now Available on PS5 and Switch 2

Developer Hamster has officially announced that the classic shoot ’em up Terra Cresta has joined the Console Archives lineup

The title has launched for both the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch 2 with a digital price point of $7.99 or 800 yen.

Originally released by Nichibutsu in 1986 for 8-bit home consoles, the game follows humanity’s struggle to reclaim Earth after being forced into the sea by the evil Mandora.

Players command the Wing Galiber, a protagonist ship featuring a modular system that allows for docking with allies or splitting into specialized formation attacks.

This modern release includes a custom Formation Design system, giving pilots total control over their split-mode configurations and firing directions.

As part of the Console Archives series, the 2026 edition introduces quality-of-life enhancements such as customizable button layouts, rapid-fire settings, and multiple save points.

Select games in the Console Archives series also feature a rewind function to assist players in navigating difficult sections of the classic titles.

Visual options have been expanded to include screen layout adjustments and specialized filters designed to recreate the nostalgic atmosphere of vintage CRT televisions.

Hamster Corporation continues its mission of preserving gaming history by bringing these historically significant titles to current generation hardware with modernized features.

An official trailer has been released to showcase the updated mechanics and classic arcade aesthetic.
