BANDAI teases three exciting new Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX figures
BANDAI SPIRITS has revealed three new upcoming additions to their action figure lines.
In a surprising announcement regarding upcoming figures from the latest Gundam anime series, “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”, the company has revealed plans to produce a new action figure of the RX-78-2 Gundam following its unexpected appearance in the last episode of the anime.
The new RX-78-2 Gundam figure will be part of the METAL ROBOT Spirits series.
This line is celebrated by collectors for its premium feel, achieved through the extensive use of die-cast metal parts in key joints and structural components, providing weight and durability.
The announcement specifically highlights that the RX-78-2 Gundam action figure will be sold under the name “Gundam (GQ)”.
This will differentiate it from other figures of the same Gundam and makes it clear that it refers specifically to the version that appeared in “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”.
It will join other Gundams recently announced as part of the METAL ROBOT Spirits line-up including the Red Gundam, Legend Gundam and GFreD.
“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” premiered as a film in January 2025 before later debuting as a television series in April 2025, receiving significant attention for its fresh take on the Universal Century timeline.
In this divergent reality, the Principality of Zeon emerged victorious in the One Year War which dramatically altered the course of the “Gundam” universe.
The series centers on underground mobile suit duels known as “Clan Battles” and features new interpretations of classic mobile suits and characters.
In addition to this announcement, they have teased new action figures for the “Kikeroga” mobile armor and “Challia Bull,” as part of their ROBOT Spirits and S.H.Figuarts series respectively.
This Kikeroga mobile armor will be turned into an action figure under the ROBOT Spirits line.
In “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”, the Kikeroga is a formidable mobile armor developed by the Principality of Zeon for Newtype pilots.
It is piloted by Challia Bull and is equipped with a Psycommu system, enabling devastating all-range attacks with its remote weapons.
It is expected that this new action figure may include a transforming gimmick as the mobile armor can transform into a mobile suit form.
The ROBOT Spirits line recently received its first transforming figure with the recent reveal of the Asshimar from “Mobile Suit Z Gundam”.
An action figure of Challia Bull will also be released as part of the S.H.Figuarts series, allowing fans to display him alongside the Kikeroga.
In the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” Universal Century timeline, Challia Bull was a relatively minor antagonist who piloted the MAN-03 Braw Bro and was eventually defeated by Amuro Ray.
In “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX”, Challia Bull receives a significantly expanded role. He is a commander in the Principality of Zeon forces and serves as Char Aznable’s loyal wingman.
Challia Bull will join the S.H.Figuarts line, which is known for its high level of articulation, detailed sculpting, and accurate portrayal of human characters.
At present, only silhouettes of Kikeroga and Challia Bull have been revealed, with BANDAI SPIRITS due to release official images and more information about their features and accessories at a later date.
The “Gundam (GQ)” action figure will see additional product details and more official images released on June 27th.
It is anticipated that these details will also include pricing and release details as well as pre-order information.
