Hatsune Miku's Official Winter Live Concerts Finally Return After 8 Years

Crypton Future Media has officially announced the return of Hatsune Miku’s dedicated SNOW MIKU LIVE! concert series after an eight-year absence.

“SNOW MIKU LIVE! 2027” will feature six concerts starring Hatsune Miku and her winter-themed counterpart Snow Miku, bringing the live music event back as part of the annual SNOW MIKU festival in Hokkaido.

Snow Miku was originally created in 2010 to celebrate a Hatsune Miku snow sculpture displayed at the Sapporo Snow Festival, later becoming an official ambassador for Hokkaido and the inspiration for a dedicated annual festival.

Held every winter, SNOW MIKU brings together exhibitions, exclusive merchandise, music, character collaborations and other activities across Sapporo and the surrounding region, with a new costume selected for Snow Miku and her companion Rabbit Yukine each year.

Although the festival has continued annually, its dedicated SNOW MIKU LIVE! concerts haven’t been held since 2019, making their return one of the biggest parts of the 2027 celebrations.

The new concerts will take place at Zepp Sapporo, with two performances scheduled each day across three consecutive days.

Unlike the larger Hatsune Miku concerts that regularly feature the other Piapro Characters, these performances will focus exclusively on Hatsune Miku and Snow Miku, with Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO not appearing.

Hatsune Miku and Snow Miku will be presented using LED displays, with each concert expected to last approximately two hours.

Crypton Future Media has also confirmed plans for an exclusive range of concert merchandise, including glow sticks and ring lights, with pre-orders expected to allow fans to receive their purchases before attending the shows.

The concert announcement arrived as part of the first detailed reveals for “SNOW MIKU 2027”, which will introduce a new theme song produced by popular Vocaloid musician Kairiki Bear.

The song, “Metamor Heroine”, features Hatsune Miku’s vocals and draws inspiration from this year’s festival theme, “Himitsu no Metamoru” (Secret Metamorphosis).

A preview of the track can already be heard in the official SNOW MIKU 2027 promotional video, with the complete version scheduled for release at a later date.

Kairiki Bear has also been confirmed as one of the performers for “Digital Stars @ SNOW MIKU 2027”, a separate one-night music event featuring creators and DJs associated with Hatsune Miku and the wider Vocaloid music scene.

The producer is scheduled to perform on guitar at the event, with additional artists and further details still to be announced.

Crypton Future Media has also unveiled the official main visual for “SNOW MIKU 2027”, illustrated by Shiori Sakura and featuring Snow Miku and Rabbit Yukine in their matching magical transformation-inspired outfits.

The 2026 SNOW MIKU festival featured a “Happy Patisserie” theme, with dessert-inspired costumes for Snow Miku and Rabbit Yukine and an original theme song by Iyowa.

2027’s designs were originally selected earlier this year through the festival’s annual costume competition, with illustrator Mochi creating the winning entry based on the theme of Secret Metamorphosis.

Snow Miku’s latest appearance incorporates heart-shaped decorations, gemstones and wing-like accessories, with Shiori Sakura’s illustration providing a new look at the completed festival designs.

These new designs will appear throughout the upcoming celebrations, including promotional artwork, special merchandise and decorations connected to the annual festival.

The 2027 festival will return to Wing Bay Otaru, with character exhibitions, workshops, stage activities, merchandise booths and other attractions available to visitors free of charge.

A new Snow Miku snow sculpture will also be displayed at the Sapporo Snow Festival, continuing the tradition that originally inspired the character in 2010.

Another development concerns the annual Snow Miku streetcar, which has featured specially designed winter decorations in Sapporo since 2011.

Crypton Future Media has confirmed that the 2027 edition will be the final Snow Miku streetcar, ending the long-running seasonal collaboration after its upcoming winter operation.

“SNOW MIKU LIVE! 2027” will officially take place at Zepp Sapporo from February 5 to February 7, 2027, with afternoon performances beginning at 1 PM and evening performances starting at 5 PM each day.

Tickets are priced at ¥9,000 (approximately $57 / £42) for standing admission and ¥9,500 (approximately $60 / £45) for reserved seating, with an additional ¥600 (approximately $4 / £3) drink charge payable upon entry.

A special under-18 seated ticket will also be available for ¥3,900 (approximately $25 / £18) for the Saturday and Sunday afternoon shows, although this category isn’t included in the international ticket application system.

The official ticket lottery will accept applications from October 22 at noon JST until November 9, 2026, at 11:59 PM JST, with an English-language application process available for international visitors.

Successful applicants will need to collect their physical tickets from Lawson or Mini Stop convenience stores in Japan, with a maximum of two tickets permitted per person for each performance.

The accompanying “Digital Stars @ SNOW MIKU 2027” event will take place at SYNC north in Sapporo on February 6, with ticket prices and performance times to be confirmed.

The main “SNOW MIKU 2027” festival will run at Wing Bay Otaru on February 6 and 7, with the Snow Miku snow sculpture displayed at the Sapporo Snow Festival from February 4 to February 11.
