First transforming “ROBOT Spirits” Gundam action figure revealed

BANDAI SPIRITS is set to make a ground breaking addition to its popular “ROBOT Spirits ver. ANIME” action figure series.
The NRX-044 Asshimar figure, based on the iconic transformable mobile armor from the classic anime Mobile Suit Z Gundam, will feature the brand’s first-ever transformation gimmick.

Mobile Suit Z Gundam, which originally aired from 1985 to 1986, is a pivotal entry in the Gundam franchise’s Universal Century timeline.

It is celebrated for its darker tone, complex political narratives, and the introduction of numerous transformable mobile suits and mobile armors.

The NRX-044 Asshimar is a mass-produced unit utilized by the oppressive Titans faction and is one of the most recognizable designs from the series.

Its distinctive ability to seamlessly transform between a humanoid mobile suit mode and a sleek, flying saucer-like mobile armor mode made it a formidable and memorable presence in the show.

The “ROBOT Spirits ver. ANIME” series is highly regarded by collectors for its commitment to recreating mobile suits with accurate proportions, dynamic articulation, and extensive accessories that allow for the replication of iconic scenes directly from their respective anime source materials.

The introduction of a full transformation gimmick in this line is a significant leap for the brand, promising an authentic recreation of the Asshimar and potentially other transforming Gundams and mobile suits further down the line.

Standing at a approximately 16cm tall (about 6.3 inches), the figure will be able to transform into three distinct forms: its mobile suit form, its aerodynamic mobile armor form, and a specialized takeoff mode.

The product contents will include the main figure, interchangeable wrist parts (three types for both left and right hands), its signature large beam rifle, a set of landing gear for its mobile armor mode, a wrist storage deck, and a display pedestal.

The figure will be priced at 16,500 yen (approximately $123 USD / £83 GBP) and is expected to be released in November 2025.

Pre-orders for the Asshimar are scheduled to begin on June 20th, at 4:00 PM JST, on Premium Bandai.
