Tiny Metal 2 Delayed until 2027 as April Playtest Announced

Publisher AREA 34 and developer AREA 35 have officially announced that the strategy game sequel TINY METAL 2 has been delayed from its original 2026 launch window to a new release date in 2027.
To compensate for the delay, a closed playtest has been scheduled to run from April 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm PT to April 29, 2026, at 2:00 am PT.
Interested players can currently sign up for this testing period through the game’s official Steam page.
The upcoming playtest focuses on single-player content and local cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, though the full version will support local play for up to eight people.
Participants will have the opportunity to trial new factions alongside returning favorites while utilizing fresh combat mechanics such as Focus Fire, which allows multiple units to combine their attacks.
This sequel marks a significant milestone for the series by introducing naval warfare, featuring a variety of vessels including battleships, destroyers, and stealthy submarines.
Combat will now span across diverse environments on land, in the air, and on the high seas, offering millions of potential military combinations.
While online multiplayer is not included in the April playtest, the developers confirmed it remains a planned feature for the final release.
TINY METAL 2 is also set to make its North American debut at PAX East 2026, taking place from March 25 to March 29 at the Thomas M Menino Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston.
The title is currently confirmed for PC via Steam, with the developers intending to announce additional platforms at a later date.
