Bandai Releases Massive New G Gundam 30th Anniversary Soundtrack Collection
Bandai Namco has officially released the first entry in its trio of 30th anniversary Gundam soundtrack collections, with the Mobile Fighter G Gundam ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION now available for fans to add to their collections.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam first aired in 1994 as the franchise’s first major television series set outside the long-running Universal Century timeline, introducing a tournament-style story that followed Domon Kasshu and the Shining Gundam.
The newly released collection brings together an extensive selection of music from the series across five CDs, including Kohei Tanaka’s memorable background score alongside the anime’s opening and ending themes, insert songs, and character songs.
The release is presented in a premium first-press LP-sized jacket package featuring an all-new illustration of the Shining Gundam created by acclaimed mechanical illustrator Hidetaka Tenjin, who is also well known for his artwork on the Master Grade Gunpla series.
The G Gundam release also marks the beginning of Bandai Namco’s wider celebration of three iconic Gundam television anime from the 1990s, with matching soundtrack collections for New Mobile Report Gundam Wing and After War Gundam X scheduled to follow over the coming months.
New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, which became one of the franchise’s biggest international successes and helped establish Gundam with Western audiences, will receive a seven-disc soundtrack collection featuring music by Kow Otani alongside songs from TWO-MIX.
After War Gundam X, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, will complete the collection with a three-disc release featuring Yasuo Higuchi’s soundtrack together with vocal tracks performed by ROMANTIC MODE.
Collectors who purchase all three soundtrack collections will qualify for a linked purchase bonus consisting of three acrylic display blocks packaged together in a white presentation box, with each block featuring one of Hidetaka Tenjin’s newly illustrated album covers.
Participating retailers are also offering exclusive store bonuses while supplies last, including an acrylic keychain from Rakuten Books, an acrylic coaster from 7net, a Mega Jacket from Amazon and a clear jacket cover measuring approximately 20 × 20 cm from A-on STORE.
The Mobile Fighter G Gundam ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION is priced at ¥10,780 (approx. $72 USD / £57 GBP) and is available now from participating music retailers.
The New Mobile Report Gundam Wing ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION is priced at ¥14,080 (approx. $94 USD / £74 GBP) and remains available to pre-order ahead of its August 19, 2026 release.
The After War Gundam X ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION is priced at ¥6,380 (approx. $42 USD / £34 GBP) and remains available to pre-order ahead of its September 16, 2026 release.
