Sanrio Unveils Adorable New Hello Kitty Matcha Sweets Collection

Sanrio is giving Hello Kitty a delicious makeover this summer with a brand-new “Matcha Sweets” collection inspired by traditional Japanese desserts and drinks.
Hello Kitty has remained one of Sanrio’s most recognizable characters since her debut in 1974, becoming a global pop culture icon through countless collaborations, collectibles and lifestyle products enjoyed by fans of all ages.

Due to her popularity, she is a mainstay of Sanrio’s numerous merchandise collaborations, which have recently included team ups with the hit anime Code Geass and Japan’s iconic kaiju, Godzilla.

The new “Matcha Sweets” collection pairs Hello Kitty’s unmistakable charm with the rich green tones of matcha, creating a lineup of everyday accessories that celebrate one of Japan’s most beloved flavors.

Let’s take a look at the full lineup!

- A Plush Mascot collection, priced at ¥1,518 each (approx. $10 USD / £8 GBP), will be available in two different designs inspired by matcha desserts.
- Mochi Style Plush Pouches, priced at ¥2,728 each (approx. $19 USD / £14 GBP), are also available in two designs and combine practical storage with soft plush construction.

- Fans looking for smaller accessories can also choose from three sticker designs, with each priced at ¥440 (approx. $3 USD / £2 GBP).
- Strap Holders, priced at ¥1,628 each (approx. $11 USD / £8 GBP), are available in two variations featuring a plush Hello Kitty and a matcha dessert inspired charm.

- Liquid Keyholders, priced at ¥1,518 each (approx. $10 USD / £8 GBP), come in two designs and feature playful moving liquid glitter effects that complement the sweets theme.
- Rounding out the lineup are two fluffy Fur Charms, each priced at ¥1,320 (approx. $9 USD / £7 GBP), giving fans another stylish way to carry the matcha-inspired Hello Kitty designs wherever they go.
The entire “Hello Kitty Matcha Sweets Series” will begin rolling out from July 25, 2026, at variety goods retailers across Japan.
