New details for the upcoming anime adaptation of The Final-Boss Prince Is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me were shared during a stage event at Anime Japan 2026.
Lead voice actors Haruka Shiraishi and Takeo Otsuka, who portray the characters Celine and Wilfred respectively, presented a new teaser trailer to the audience.
The footage highlights the protagonist Celine in her initial state as a spoiled and chubby princess before showcasing her updated character design.
The plot follows a woman who dies of an illness and is reincarnated as Celine, a widely disliked and obese villainess destined for a tragic end.
In an effort to survive, Celine vows to reform her personality and physique, though her actions lead to an unexpected and obsessive romantic entanglement with the prince.
Production staff also released new character artwork for the main cast, including Celine, Wilfred, Lewis, and Adele.
The television anime project was first announced on February 13, 2026, as an adaptation of the isekai romance manga series.
The original story is written by Kotoko and features illustrations by Kaname Hanamiya, with publication handled by Kadokawa Shoten.
An English version of the manga is currently distributed by Manga Mirai across various digital platforms.
Director Naoyuki Kuzuya is leading the production at Studio Rings, supported by assistant director Shusaku Kato and series composer Mitsuki Hirota.
Animation character designs are being provided by Fumino Kakihata and Yukiko Sekita to bring the light novel and manga aesthetics to the screen.
