A teaser visual for the second season of the YAIBA: Samurai Legend anime was officially unveiled during a stage event at ShoPro’s AnimeJapan 2026 booth on March 28, 2026.

While the new visual highlights the conflict between Yaiba, Sayaka, and the Kaguya faction, a specific release date for the new season has not yet been confirmed.

The series serves as a modern re-adaptation of the classic manga by Gosho Aoyama, which was originally serialized between 1988 and 1993.

It follows Kurogane Yaiba, a young samurai who returns to Japan after training in the jungle to face his rival, Takeshi Onimaru.

When Onimaru obtains the Legendary Demon Sword, Yaiba embarks on a grand adventure filled with supernatural battles.

Takahiro Hasui, who previously worked on Mob Psycho 100 III, returns to direct the production at WIT Studio.

The creative team also features series composition by Toko Machida and character designs by Yoshimichi Kameda, with musical scores provided by Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa.
